University of Maryland-College Park announced a new diversity support group called “White Awake” which offers a safe space for white students to learn how to fit into a diverse world. After CampusReform reported on this, they quickly backtracked changing the name to “Anti-Racism and Ally Building Group” and removed all references singling out white people. In a statement the school acknowledged that the original name of the group was “counter to the values of inclusiveness and diversity that we embody.” Ya think?
