Jul 20, 2017 @ 7:00 pm - 7:55 pm PDT
Millennials think us older folks have political correctness wrong. They aren’t being PC, they just want us to be more inclusive. Sure they do. How do you get white kids to feel so guilty about being white if they aren’t being bullied? Millennials don’t understand that they are doing exactly what they say shouldn’t be done… bullying other people into submission, demonizing their personhood, and attacking based on identity.
Bob Walters new book Facing Reality in American Education. A hard look at America’s education system and it’s failure to properly educate our kids!
Somewhere along the line someone decided that if you weren’t college bound you were a loser. They stopped offering trade options like home economics, auto shop, wood shop, etc. So if you weren’t college bound, why bother?
How will someone know how to read the Constitution now that they’ve eliminated cursive writing from education?
Shop (vocational / technical) classes are starting to make a comeback. But for a while, there were literally NONE!
I hope the book makes people aware that the system we have now is failing our kids. Spending more money doing the same things isn’t fixing the problem.
You can now go to community college with what amounts to a D- average. It should not be this way. College is for those at the top.
What could education do better: We need a better way to assess teacher performance. Teaching students basics of American history and culture.
MLK didn’t believe in victimhood. He believed everyone should be colorblind.
