The Electoral College has been part of the Constitution since 1789. DNC Chair Tom Perez either misspoke or doesn’t have a clue, saying the Electoral college is not part of the Constitution! REALLY?
The U.S. Constitution establishes the EC in Article 11, and the 12th Amendment details the elector process. Why would he lie about such a concrete thing?
The biggest myth about the Electoral College is that the Founders created it because of the time it took to travel.
The Founders knew that power corrupted and implemented safeguards in place to ensure a system of checks and balances to avoid corruption.
Our Constitution was written to allow each state to express and govern itself, but we keep becoming more centralized in the Federal government.
The worst thing we could do is get rid of the electoral college.
