When personal ethics override community ethics, it breaks down our community and that’s a dangerous place to live. We need to have a shared ethic for what is reasonable and right.
Who am I? Where did I come from? What am I doing? Where am I going?
Are we, as a society and country, better off now than we were when we were morally rooted in God? No! Definitely not.
The good side of Halloween is it brings families together and spending time walking around their neighborhoods meeting each other. That’s a good thing.
The negative side of Halloween is, it anesthetizes people to a culture of death. Death is real and it’s no fun. It is absolute, which is why we need to spend our time preparing to meet our maker. We don’t just “turn off” when we die. There is an afterlife.
