Saying Lincoln was anti-slavery and that’s the same as today’s “Progressive” is just nuts. Progressives are NOT about freedom.

Congressman Elijah Cummings (D) actually said it was the Democrats who freed the slaves and gave blacks and women the right to vote. He’s WRONG!
1 in 10 lynchings in the South were white Republicans lynched by white Democrats!
Republicans started the DOJ to stop Democrats from oppressing blacks.
Theodore Roosevelt (R) was the first president to have a black person to dinner in White House, Booker T. Washington.
President Woodrow Wilson (D) segregated the US military.
President Dwight Eisenhower (R) integrated the US military.
1964 Civil Rights Bill… Democrats Strom Thurman and Robert Byrd continue to fight vehemently against Civil Rights. Democrats filibustered the bill for 71 DAYS!
When did the BIG switch happen? The switch was from intimidation to entitlement, both coming from Democrats.
President Lyndon Johnson (D) realized intimidation wasn’t working and optics weren’t good for newly emerging TV, so he came up with entitlement to keep blacks down and voting Democrat. He knew they wouldn’t vote to eliminate free money. He called them “useful idiots.”
Before 1965, welfare was provided by family and charities, then the government took over. And poverty has increase!
