The Blurred Truth of the Left!

Did you ever drive home from work or an event late at night and when you pulled into your driveway you really didn’t remember how you got there? This has been documented by many professionals and it’s like sleep walking, only its sleep driving. Some people have even awakened to find themselves stuck on a median when they clearly thought they were driving straight on the road past that same median. They heard the noise, but saw nothing until they woke up. My contention is that many Americans are like those people. They are “sleep living”.

Every day they hear very obvious facts that they ignore while continuing to move forward in some kind of dreamlike altered reality. Take Matt Damon. Seems like a nice guy, everyone seems to love him. He flew and drove all night to help his mom to promote her “Save our Schools” rally. When he got to the stage he said “he had great teachers a great education, he wouldn’t be where he was today if it wasn’t for public education”. Everyone in the audience cheered and thanked him. But they were all “sleep living”. Either he blurred the truth (lied) or he hates his kids.

Put down your rocks. It’s simple. We, as parents, want what’s best for our kids. We want to give them or allow them to have the best chance to succeed at life. So, if you, as a parent, went through a great education program, one that helped you achieve a high standard of living and great success, then why wouldn’t you want that for your children?

His words (not mine) said he went through a great system, but his kids go to private schools. Either he lied and public schools aren’t good enough, or he is giving his kids a substandard education, in which case, he is either very confused or wants the worst for his children.
Or maybe he’s lying to help his mom save her school. But why lie? Why not just tell the truth? I guess you’ll just have to ask Matt and hope he tells you the truth.

Speaking of blurring the truth… I was floored by a quote about the history of Democrats on their national website. It said, “for more than 200 years, our party has led the fight for civil rights, health care, Social Security, workers’ rights, and women’s rights.” Is that how they really see history? If that doesn’t scare you, and cause you to question pretty much every statement out of their mouths, I’m not sure what will. Let’s just take a look at a few of those claims.

In the mid 1800’s the Democrat party controlled everything. Massachusetts Senator Charles Sumner (a Whig Party member) blasted the Democrats for pushing slavery on the new state of Kansas, not asking them to leave the option open but forcing them to do it. It enraged the Democrats so much that Congressman Preston Brooks (D) of South Carolina walked up to Sumner from behind (coward) and hit him with a heavy cane hard enough to break it! His fellow colleagues were so impressed they bought him another heavy cane to replace his broken one. Very civilized don’t you think? Sumner was confined to a wheelchair for three years, for voicing his opposition to slavery. Doesn’t sound like the Democrats were fighting for civil rights to me!

In the 1800’s, those Republicans who supposedly hate blacks and, according to Joe Biden, want to put “ya’ll back in chains” controlled Congress and passed the Northwest Ordinance that prohibited slavery in any federal territory. The Democrats were patient, waiting until 1820, when they again controlled the Congress, to pass the Missouri Compromise which reversed the earlier policy. The Democrats effort expanded slavery into almost half of the federal territories. Who is it that cares about civil rights?

All through the mid 1800’s time after time Democrats strengthened slavery laws. Democrats passed the “Fugitive Slave Law” requiring Northerners to return escaped slaves back into slavery or pay huge fines.

The Democrat platform took a position strongly defending slavery and warned that, “All efforts of the abolitionists… are calculated to lead to the most alarming and dangerous consequences and all such efforts have an inevitable tendency to diminish the happiness of the people”. That would just be the happiness of white Democrats, correct?

Remember the controversial Dred-Scott decision handed down by a Democrat controlled Supreme Court? It declared that blacks were not persons or citizens but instead were property and therefore had no rights. Not even civil ones!

The 13th Amendment to abolish slavery was voted for by 100% of the Republicans in Congress and by 23% of the Democrats in Congress.
Not a single one of the 56 Democrats in Congress voted for the 15th amendment that granted explicit voting rights to black Americans.

Then, in the mid 1800’s, Democrats formed the Ku Klux Klan. Some say it was for the Democrats to regain control in the elections. The Colored Citizens of Frankfort, Kentucky wrote a letter to Congress appealing that, “our services to the government and our race have become the special object of hatred and persecution at the hands of the Democratic Party.”

It was the Democrats who prevented Black Americans from going to public schools in the early 1900’s. It was the Democrats who recently discontinued vouchers in the Washington DC public school system, a district where, because of the voucher program, blacks were flourishing after being trapped in failing schools. In fact Democrats voted against the voucher bill by 99%.

If I had more space I would go into how the Democrats also fought against giving women the right to vote several times over several years.

The twisted truth force-fed to our young and ignorant will do much more damage than any bomb or economic collapse in this country. The Democrat party has dealt with these inconvenient facts by pointing to the other side and shouting “they did it”. Unfortunately, it isn’t much more than background noise and most Americans believe this blurred truth because they don’t know their history and are “sleep driving” through the present. God help us all.

A Living Wage?

Living Wage?

The English language has become very fluid. We no longer add or remove words, we simply change them on the fly depending on what group we are speaking to.

Unless you have been in a coma over the last few weeks, you should have heard about the strike at McDonald’s in 7 different major cities across the country. Cities whose people need work. Cities that have high unemployment rates. Chicago, Detroit, Flint (Michigan), Kansas City, Milwaukee, and St. Louis are among the cities that were targeted. Why?

Does anyone else find it interesting that an industry with 75% percent turnover in workers would want to unionize and lose jobs? No one goes to McDonald’s, Burger King, KFC and so on to pursue a career in burger flipping and take care of their families. The majority of employees at these establishments are young people. People who haven’t worked much in the “real world”.

These jobs are one of the learning cycles in life. They are a normal and natural progression on the path to one’s life career. Young people take these jobs, in most cases, to make some spending money, save for a car, school or Christmas.

They are great experiences that teach them how to take responsibility for their actions, both good and bad. They also learn how to work in a team environment to accomplish the desired results. They learn what “8 to 5” means and why a company needs to make a profit. It teaches them how to get along with people they may not like, and even a boss they don’t like simply because they need a paycheck. These are good skills to have and lessons that need to be learned.

It is not a life sustaining job. If you have an IQ above single digits you know that.

I was watching some of the news channels interviewing people on strike in different cities. At several of the locations were people wearing SEIU t-shirts, which I found to be interesting. As I went back over the interviews, I noticed they all had the same catch phrases, “We need a living wage”, “They make all their profits off our hard work and we get paid nothing”, “The executives make millions we make nothing”. I guess that proves my point about the IQ. If you aren’t getting paid to work, then you’re an idiot for working for nothing!

But how did they come up with the same catch phrases across all those cities? The SEIU spoon fed them. Did the SEIU also pay them for the day of work they missed? Were they bused in? Were they real employees? When the SEIU gets involved it opens up all kinds of questions.

The first is, what’s in it for them? The answer is simple… dues! And lots of it. Think about it. There are about 3.5 million people in fast food positions across the country. Each of those employees will pay an average of $45.00 dollars a month to the union. That’s almost $160 million a year. The SEIU is a large corporation and they pay their managers millions of your union money. Where is the outrage from the left?

If these union mercenaries were being honest then they would work for “fair” wages as well and then they would be able to honestly fight for the “rank and file”.

Living wages equates to union dues in most cases (that’s union-ese). In this case its 100% on. Unionizing means more than $15 an hour. It means accumulated sick days, accumulated vacation days, grievance filings, health care, representation, and more. Union driven benefits will equate to about $23.00 per employee and remember that the employer matches some taxes and portions of the benefits; this will bring the employer cost per employee up to about $32 per hour. With those wages you can look for a McDonald’s hamburger to cost $16.50, not including fries and a coke, and if you supersize it, you may need a loan.

Now those poor and middle-class people just barely scraping by who rely on the fast food dollar menus to feed their families will be screwed. Is anyone concerned about these families? It would seem not, as long as whatever employees are left in the fast food industry are making their “living wage”.

The bottom line is this; a living wage is what you make when you get your first professional job: carpenter, electrical or plumber apprentice, janitor, handyman, mechanic, computer technician, administrative assistance, etc.

It is not what you make for breathing and having a heartbeat.

Not every job pays a living wage. Stop complaining, grow up, and go find a job that will support your family!

Inhaled! Apparently, He Never Stopped!

In 2006, Senator Obama declared that he had “inhaled, that was the point.” In a moment of total unadulterated truth the now-president admitted to doing something illegal. But none the less he told the truth and admitted to it. Something, it seems, he has not been able to do for at least 5 years now.

The president said this past week in several “campaign-like” speeches that Washington has taken its eye off the ball. They are obsessed with phony scandals! Did he really say that? Phony scandals?

Now look, we can have two sides of the aisle. We can have different viewpoints on what went down. But you can’t have different facts on the same issue. I have to believe my friends on the left haven’t chugged so much Kool-Aid or inhaled so much of the funny weed, that they won’t admit the truth.

Which “phony scandal” is he referring to? Benghazi? The one where several military brass have been moved or shifted around and witnesses to the event aren’t allowed to speak? Where they have had over a year to produce reports on what took place and have received basically nothing?

Or is it the “phony scandal” involving the IRS where two rogue agents out of Cincinnati decided, “on their own,” to push back on a “few” conservative groups? Then, as the situation heats up, the two rogue agents come forward refusing to be thrown under the bus and divulge that the direction actually came from Washington. Wasn’t there a memo encouraging agents to be on the lookout for groups with names using words like “tea party”, “patriot”, or “9/12” that criticize how the country is being run? If that’s not a scandal then it must be just standard operating procedure for you Mr. President.

Or is it the “Operation Fast and Furious” scandal, an ATF program intended to track weapons bought in the U.S. and “walked” into Mexico? Unfortunately, the ATF lost track of hundreds of firearms, some of which were used to kill a U.S. Border agent and God knows how many Mexican citizens. And again, this “phony scandal” was back in the news on July 5th when the Los Angeles Times reported that “A high-powered rifle from Fast and Furious was used to kill a Mexican police chief in the state of Jalisco earlier this year, according to internal Department of Justice records.” To stop further investigation of the program, Obama issued an executive order! Why? If it’s a phony scandal then nothing would be found Mr. President.

Or is it Obamacare? Is it a scandal when the president says, “Nothing will change for you and it won’t cost you one dime more or add one dime to the deficit” but there’s no shred of truth in it? The GAO now says it will cost the average family almost $2000 a year more in health care costs. Additionally, most companies report they will be canceling their insurance carrier’s policies and replacing with government policies, moving us closer to that single payer system the Democrats want so badly! And if you think it won’t add one dime to the deficit… really?

Then there are the not-so-well-known “phony scandals”, like the green energy mess. This administration has made billions in green energy loans and grants, only to watch the money and jobs go overseas. For example: The manufacturer (owned by a Chinese company) that was given over $360 million to open a plant in the U.S. to make the battery for the Chevy Volt closed down without producing one battery for use. Why? Partly due to regulations and partly because it was simply cheaper to produce and import from overseas.

No one with an IQ above a single digit can say that there is not some semblance of truth in each of these “phony scandals”. This president and his staff have spit in the eye of our founding fathers, disregarding many of the truths that made this a great nation, all the while sweeping the truth under the rug and attempting to convince the American public that what they are doing is what’s best for all of us.

Mr. President, it’s time to exhale, allow the fog to lift, and get this country back on track to being the strongest nation in the world. Richard Nixon crimes were “penny larceny” compared to the theft you have perpetrated on this country.

Oh, and once, just once, I would love to hear you say that you love this country and are proud of its accomplishments around the globe.

From a very, very, very concerned citizen.

Liberty and Justice for ALL?

“With liberty and justice for all” are great and noble words, but really, they are that… words! Unless we’ve all agreed upon the meaning of these words, or any words for that matter, they are meaningless. And unless we are willing to act upon these words, based on the agreed upon meaning, then, again, they are useless. Are you confused yet? Good!

Lately, I’ve been confused by the words spewed by Al Sharpton, Jesse Jackson, and even our own President.

A young life was lost and I agree, it was tragic. If there were any way to fix it, I would be all for it. Jesse and Al say this is a travesty and that we should march into the city and stop our young black men from being killed. Agreed! We need to stop “people” from being killed.

Let’s work with real numbers here. The FBI reports these simple facts: 94% of black people killed in 2012 were killed by other black people. To be fair, 88% of white men killed in 2012 were killed by white people. As my friends on the left love to remind me, statistics don’t lie.

Al and Jesse want to march into the cities, hold vigils, because that will supposedly make things better. Well, Al and Jesse, you been doing that for 50 years and nothing has really changed. Your focus is in the wrong places. The inner cities that are ravaged with crime and poverty are the places you need to go. You have a right to link arms and march down the street. That’s wonderful. But what is it doing for you and how is it helping your cause?

Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. did it and it was the right action for the right time. You need to close your mouth and take action. March into the cities where, as you put it, “our people are being persecuted and killed” and take a stand. Have a five thousand person march on Detroit over a few days and push the gangs out, paint some homes, feed some people.

Take action and do something constructive. Your outrage and conversation is all based around Trayvon Martin. But justice for all is exactly that. It’s for “all” of the kids in “your” communities who can’t read, can’t get a job, and just can’t seem to get ahead. Most of those in the inner cities are taught in schools by people of the same color, in cities governed by people of the same color. Who is doing more harm to whom?

Justice is for all. You should be just as outraged at those providing substandard educations to “your people.” And you should be outraged at those providing a “hand out” rather than a “hand up.”

It’s shocking how disingenuous you are and disappointing that the media allows you to get away with it.

All kids and all people deserve to be protected under the law, educated under the law, and treated as humans under the law. How about the young white football player that was beaten to death by a few black boys at school? Why was there no outrage from you or the media?

The white man that was beaten by 6 black men a year ago in Cincinnati died this week. What was his crime? Being white! And there are another 50+ stories just like these. However, my issue is not the “black or white” thing. It’s the “people” thing.

ALL kids, all seniors, all people should feel safe and actually be safe walking the streets of this great country. This is not the America of the 1960’s.

Even my black friends say “stop with the race talk already”. Al and Jesse, if you care about “your people” then go where “your people” are killing “your people” and work with them, because that’s where the majority of the killing is taking place. You need to help stop the hatred and violence, not keep it going.

Justice for all, to people like me, considered white by today’s standards (not so much in the 1970’s), means I will work hard to stop the “white supremacy” types who hide behind God and ignorance from causing and inflicting pain on those they think don’t belong. Why? Because I believe in justice for all… all colors and all origins.

We have come a long way. Help us to keep moving ahead, don’t bring us back.

Is the Earth Spinning in the Opposite Direction?

While celebrating the 4th of July, sitting around, thanking God for the freedoms that our forefathers fought and died for, I got a chill down my spine. You know, like the kind you get when it feels like there is someone else in the room with you but there really isn’t!

A recent study shows that almost 80% of Americans feel that our founding fathers would be very disappointed in where we are at today as a country.

As many of you know, I cover some pretty crazy stories on my radio show, stories that our founding fathers would be repulsed by. We now live in a country that supposedly considers the following things to be “bad”:

  • Traditional Marriage
  • Adoption
  • Religion
  • Strict adherence to the Constitution
  • Conservatism
  • Moral Values
  • Child Innocence
  • Self Reliance
  • Parental rights

And these things to be “good”:

  • Atheism
  • Abortion
  • Same Sex Marriage
  • Polygamy (next)
  • Loosely interpreting the Constitution
  • Liberal Progressiveness
  • Moral Relativism
  • Child Sacrifice
  • Government Reliance

Really? Some of you are saying, “Joe what have you been drinking all week?” Apple juice and water, because I refuse to drink the Kool-Aid being provided by the current administration and the progressives.

Do you need a few examples? Here’s a few of my favorites:

We have people picketing “equality for all”, but it’s not really for “all”. It’s only for everyone on the left. And is it really equality that they’re looking for, or something else?

In California the voters have now voted twice to protect traditional marriage. The Supreme Court, for clarity, did not rule it as unconstitutional. They ruled that the plaintiffs had no right to fight it. Period.

Supporters of same sex marriage crying “equality for all” said all they wanted was the same rights as married couples. Apparently they didn’t do their homework because in 1999 the California Legisloonies passed a law called the Domestic Partner law. This law is word-for-word the same as the marriage laws here in California. The only exception made a point of calling out “Man and Woman” in the marriage law and “Same Sex partners” in the Domestic Partner law. A progressive play on words or a lie? Did they not know they already had “equality” according to the law?

As LGBTQ groups fight for equal rights they really mean that they want to choose what rights “they” have and what rights “we” have. I use those words because “they” divide the words like that. The California Legisloonies decided that no matter what, business and government agencies will accommodate a person of the LGBTQ community. Sounds good. But let’s take a look at the transgender person on a high school campus.

If a person born with male body parts decides that they now want to live as a female while in high school, that young person now gets to share the girls locker room and bathroom while your 14+ year-old daughters get to be exposed a “different” lifestyle. And that young man, who is living as a young woman, gets to play soccer or volleyball or any other sport on an all-female team. Does that sound like its fair? I think not! Study after study shows that the physical abilities of males and females are different. Will we now change the Olympics to accommodate?

We are being barraged with laws, regulations, and mandates that go against our basic internal values as a country and a people.

We are becoming a society of “me”. If I‘m gay, you better do it my way or else you’re a “hater”. If I don’t want to work, you better take care of me. And if I do work, you better pay me what I want. If I chose not to take responsibility for myself, then the government needs to step in and give me that money or the abortion or whatever else I need. But don’t question me about what I’m doing or why. And definitely don’t dare to disagree with me.

These are not the principles that this country was founded on.

Sometimes it feels like the earth is spinning in reverse and the inmates are running the asylum! But just because a group is making the most noise does not mean that they are in the majority.

The ten most violent cities in US run by…….

After falling for five consecutive years, the number of violent crimes across the United States rose by 1.2% in 2012.  Based on data published by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), the increase was even greater in some of America’s largest cities.  In 2012, for the third year in a row, Flint, Michigan had the highest violent crime rate in the country.

According to the FBI, violent crime includes murder, nonnegligent manslaughter, rape, robbery and aggravated assault.  In some cases, the cities with the highest violent crime rate, including Flint and Oakland, had high rates in all four categories.  However, most of the most violent cities tend to do very poorly only in a few categories.

Promoting Mediocrity Promotes Government Dependency!

When I was a child we were told to work hard, be honest, do your best, stand out, run faster, push, push, push. That’s how you get ahead. That is so old school!

No, No Johnny, don’t strain yoursef, come over here grab this Xbox controller and relax.  Johnny, put that homework away. You look stressed. Grab this Gameboy and blow off some steam. We aren’t pushing our kids to do anything.

Back in the early eighties the “psychobabologists” (experts in “psycho-babble”, yes, I know it’s not really a word!) got together and decided that we were tearing down our young people’s self-esteem by grading them and having winners and losers in sports. According to a University of Michigan study, grading a student was “degrading” because the student based their worth on their grades. I say, humbug!

The study went on to say that low self-esteem led to poor health and potentially more involvement in criminal behavior. They go on to say that bad grades are usually attributed to poor communities. But do grades cause low self-esteem which then has a domino effect?
Kids from all walks of life get bad grades, behave badly in school, and so on. But for now, let’s discuss what these “psychobabologists” are selling… grades degrade kids.

Most wealthy people from “the hood” got out by working harder, getting a better education, getting off the streets, and aspiring to be something other than a street hoodlum.  Those who work harder and have better grades tend to get into college easier and for less money (through grants and scholarships). Why? Does it mean they are worth more? No, it means they worked harder, wanted more for themselves, had a vision, and were willing to push toward it to get the grades needed to get out of their situation.

On the liberal side of the fence, the Whoopi Goldberg story, sleeping in her car with her kids and on welfare. She wanted more. Does that make her a bad person? No. She made it out of her situation! Good for her!   On the conservative side, there’s Star Parker with a very similar story. She, too, came out of it.  Both were black, single females on welfare that wanted a better life for themselves and their children. They were willing to work hard to achieve it. They used the tools available to them, got ahead, and got off the government support system. God bless them both!

Both are great examples of what America is meant to be. It doesn’t seem that either of them have any self-esteem or self-worth issues. And I bet both of them received grades!

And then there’s the criticism of keeping score, and now recommendations that there should be no scorekeeping. Scorekeeping is bad. It makes the kids feel bad about themselves when they lose. Seriously? According to the “psychobabologists”!
I suppose this also means we should get rid of professional sports, the Olympics, and academic decathlons? Why would we, as enlightened human beings, want to make so many people feel so badly about themselves, to the point of lowering their self-esteem and self-worth, thereby making them sick and causing them to go into a life of crime? That is the inference that’s being made. Crazy, huh?
Major inventions and successful businesses, too numerous to mention, have followed failure, or someone else beating them to market with a product. Those losses are what make us stronger, better, and more caring people. Making everyone the same breeds mediocrity. No scores, no winners or losers, no grades. Why bother?

A 2001 Sports Illustrated study showed that a large portion of children who started playing organized sports by age 6 usually quit by age 13 because they were no longer having any “fun”. There is a lesson here that we are losing in America. How badly do you want it?
This is a great lesson for children. Tell Little Johnny and Little Suzie that competition is not always fun. Competition can be painful and disappointing. Getting to the top is not always fun and it’s not easy. But when you get there and you look back at all the hard work you can say “I did it”, “I built it” (not the government), and “it was worth it”.

Low self-esteem isn’t avoided by an absence of failure. Real self-esteem is earned by recovering from and overcoming failures (and encouragement from family and friends helps too!) You learn that you really can do it if you don’t give up. And when others look at you and know what you’ve been through to get where you are, your story can give them hope that they, too, can do what you have done.

Perks of Being a Wallflower include Rape, Bestiality…..

Parents in Glen Ellyn, Illinois were not happy about the novel that teachers were encouraging middle school students to read “The Perks of Being a Wallflower”. The book includes profanity, homosexuality, bestiality, masturbation, incest, and rape in very graphic detail, leaving
little-to-nothing to the imagination. The school board voted to restrict the book after parental outcries. However, the students launched
a protest and the school board reversed it’s decision voting to reinstate the book.

It doesn’t look like the book was required reading, but was part of a list of choices for independent reading recommended
by the school
 for junior high school students!

This isn’t “controversial” content… this is “VERY MATURE” content. Here’s a link to the content… you’ve been warned!!!
CLICK HERE FOR PDF

One of the board members who spoke about this issue said parents should have “a critical voice in terms of what their children
are reading.”            This is DEFINITELY true… BUT…

Putting a book on a school reading list implies the school and educators have reviewed and approve of its content for students
of that age and believe it to be of educational value for the children.

Parents rely on their expertise. Parents ALWAYS have a choice in deciding what their children read or don’t read (whether it’s on a school reading list or not).  That isn’t what’s in question here… what’s in question is

WHAT IS THE SCHOOL DISTRICT RECOMMENDING???

Children DON’T know what’s best for them at 13-14-15 years of age. That’s why they have parents… and an elected school board…
to ensure they are receiving a good education that is appropriate for their current age.

With so many other cultural and literary choices, why do we have to stoop to this level of graphic sexual content as elective
reading choices for middle school students? Parents can always pick it up in the public library or local bookstore for their
child if they really want them to read it. CLICK FOR MORE INFO

“For now, board members approved the language in a revised letter that will go out to parents at the beginning of the
school year that describes the kinds of books available as a choice for independent reading. A signature is required by
parents if they want their child to have access to classroom libraries. If a parent chooses not to sign, their child can
still access books through the school library.”

What’s the best way to get a kid to read a book? Tell them their not allowed to read it because it’s too racy!

And, for now, if you opt your child out of those “kinds” of books for “independent reading”, no worries kids…
you “can still access” them “through the school library”

We Have a Guaranteed Freedom of Nothing!

Last week we celebrated over 230 years of protection from the United States Army. These brave men and women have been dying for our freedom to be stupid for a long time.

I am enraged by this administration’s recent attack on the military and even more so by the administration’s inability to allow these men and woman to live out their belief systems. If there is a war on women that has been started by the Republicans, then the war on God has been started by, fueled by, and actively pursued by the Democrats.

Now Democrats, before you get all uppity on me, remember, some of you have no problem blaming all Republicans for the bad decisions a Republican president and his staff made, so you need to swallow and own your own playbook. The Democrats own the White House and, therefore, all the tomfoolery coming out of it. This president, who says he is for freedom of religion, seems to have never stop living in “backwards day”.

This administration has strongly objected to an amendment to the National Defense Authorization Act that would simply allow freedom of religious speech for soldiers. The amendment was authored by Rep. John Fleming, R-LA. It would have “required the Armed Forces to accommodate ‘actions and speech’ reflecting the conscience, moral, principles or religious beliefs of the member.”

This is a blatant attack on Christianity. How so, you ask? Accommodations are still made for the prayer rituals of Muslims. 5 times a day! Special rooms, approved absences in the middle of shifts, and so on.

The new rules being put in place by the administration would require soldiers to keep Bibles out of plain view. If soldiers are sitting on their bunks discussing the Bible, God, or Jesus and a non-believing soldier walks in and is offended they have to stop! Chaplains performing services can’t use the name of Jesus even if the family asks.

My favorite saying as of late is that the world must be spinning in the opposite direction.

Comrade Putin has declared in mother Russia that no hate speech towards churches or religions will be tolerated. Unlike the U.S., violations in Russia are publishable by imprisonment. Here in the U.S. of A. intolerance towards religion is encouraged, especially against those that are Christ-centered or hold an “unfavorable” viewpoint toward gay marriage, illegal immigration, and waiting to have sex before marriage. We are so screwed as a society.

Regarding the military: The current administration needs to get its head out of the very dark, odorful place it has had it in for many years and get back to reality. Anyone willing to fight for my freedom, take a bullet for me or my family, in simple words for the overeducated, anyone willing to die fighting for me, should be able to have and speak of any God, scripture, and belief system they want. If a soldier wants to “Hail Satan” then so be it.

There have been virtually no complaints by non-believing enlisted soldiers. The complaints come primarily from attorneys and organizations, cowards. These people aren’t on the front lines, they’re not fighting, and they typically have no relationship with our soldiers or their families. They’re cowards.

President Obama, get a grip on reality. I know you have no use for our military except as doormen and umbrella holders, but they have more courage, integrity, and love for our county and its people in their baby finger than you have had your whole life.

Do you doubt this is really happening? Here’s a quick snapshot of other reports about Christian service members and chaplains being punished for their faith:

  • The Air Force censored a video created by a chaplain because it included the word “God.” The Air Force feared the word might offend Muslims and atheists.
  • A service member received a “severe and possibly career-ending reprimand” for expressing his faith’s religious position about homosexuality in a personal religious blog.
  • A senior military official at Fort Campbell sent out a lengthy email officially instructing officers to recognize “the religious right in America” as a “domestic hate group” akin to the KKK and Neo-Nazis because of its opposition to homosexual behavior.
  • A chaplain was relieved of his command over a military chapel because, consistent with DOMA’s definition of marriage, he could not allow same-sex weddings to take place in the chapel.

For the record I blame my “religious” brothers for the loss of these freedoms. We allowed this to happen. We never wanted to make waves because we were afraid that we might offend someone. These are the consequences of inaction. Slowly but surely we are losing our freedom to speak openly about our religious beliefs. I, for one, will not go down easily.

Equality for Everyone? Not quite!

Ever read or hear about the book “Men Are From Mars, Woman Are From Venus”? I haven’t actually read it, but I have heard from enough people to have a basic grasp of the premise. It basically lays out the differences between the sexes and how they complement each other. The book explains how to work from within those differences to live a great life together. It talks about the differences in the way each feel value. Men need to feel respected in order to accept the love from his wife and women need to know they are loved to give themselves totally into the relationship. Equal needs expressed in different ways coming together to make for a great relationship.

Pretty simple, equality. So let’s add some sand to this well-oiled machine. The book was written 21 years ago. How times have changed. In order for real equality to be served, we need an updated, “Men Are From Mars and Other Men Are From Mars, Women Are From Venus and, Well, Other Woman Are From Venus”.

The original booked was hailed as a great work that helped millions of couples, but according to today’s “equalists” the book is useless. The premise of the book is how to get the opposite sexes to relate to one another the way nature intended. How not to see the differences as impediments but as catalysts to make the relationship more solid and how you have to have the differences for the relationship to flourish. How does this work in a same sex relationship? The original book falls apart and becomes useless. Is nature confused? Are we confused? I say we are!

Recently, a man was charged with murder for giving his girlfriend a drug that caused her to have an abortion. She didn’t want to have one and told him she would raise the child alone, he didn’t need to be involved financially or physically. He didn’t want a child, nor did he want her to have it. If the tables were turned and she didn’t want it but he did and she had the abortion against his will, no murder charges would have been filed there.
Just to summarize, it’s a life if he objects to it and chooses to abort, but it’s a blob of cells if she objects and chooses to abort. Equality? And the, “it’s her body” argument doesn’t hold up because it’s the baby’s body to! You can’t have it both ways.

This summer , a young man was told he could not pray at the end of the commencement ceremony because one parent complained citing that they were at a public ceremony paid for by tax dollars. He agreed not to pray. However, a few sentences into the speech he started to recite the Lord’s Prayer and, to the surprise of that one parent, an overwhelming majority of the students joined in and recited with him!
The prayer ended to thunderous applause and 99% percent were quite happy. When the voice of one person outweighs the desire of the community as a whole is that Equality? I think not.

A New Hampshire high school graduate and boot camp graduate was barred from wearing his Marine Corps uniform in lieu of the traditional cap and gown. The young man had worked hard to make sure he had his credits done in time to leave early to go to boot camp, pass boot camp and get back for graduation. The school board, in my opinion, made a terrible mistake not allowing him to do so. No reward for his hard work. However, if he was a transvestite, would they have allowed him to dress as a woman, wear the female gown, wig, high heels, and so on? I have seen some graduations where the rainbow colors were worn as a scarf or the gown itself. And this is Equality? How?

Finally, based on a report by Britain’s Department for Education and Skills some schools are no longer teaching about the Holocaust in history lessons so as not to offend Muslim students. The report, titled “Teaching Emotive and Controversial History”, also notes that teachers don’t lessons covering The Crusades because it contradicts what is taught in local mosques.

Truth is truth. Why are they altering history? History is not always comfortable. In fact, it’s often ugly.
But it’s also important not to forget it.

The Muslims (like the Christians) went around in The Crusades and massacred people who would not convert. It’s true! It really happened. Millions of Jews were killed in the Holocaust. It’s true, and the fact that you’re offended doesn’t make it any less true. In this case, they don’t want to offend Muslims, but accommodating Muslims, they offend the Jews. Equality? I think not.

It seems that equality is what some people (usually those on the political left) deem it to be
and everyone else can, well, go pound sand!

And so I say, equality for everyone, not quite

Is God Mad?

What have the people of Oklahoma done to make God so mad? Nothing!

Let me start by saying, my heart goes out to all those that were affected by the tornadoes in Oklahoma and the Midwest. I can’t even imagine what it would be like.

Here in California we have earthquakes. When we have an earthquake it’s bad. People die, lose their homes, and more. But, in most cases, we can look through the rubble, find pictures, and grab some “keepsakes”. In a tornado, where do you start? What do you do when you come back to where your home used to be only to find a cement slab!? Where do you look for pictures, furniture, and other items? Do you start 5 miles away? 10 miles? Do you even bother to look?

It’s just heartbreaking. These people have to start over again. Our hearts and prayers go out to them.

With that in mind, don’t YOU become a victim! I’ve received many emails asking me to give to those in need. Sure, just click on the link attached and “get screwed”!

Many of us would be on site helping if we were close by, but we’re not. The next best thing is to send money. It’s easy to send electronically with the click of a button. Please don’t get sucked in! Stay with known entities, the Red Cross, United Way, and so on. Several of the local media outlets are listing reputable organizations. Check them out. And don’t send “stuff”. They are begging for people to send money because they have store “stuff” and inventory “stuff” and then match to individual needs. Money is just easier for them to deal with.

Back to my original thought!

Now I never professed to be a scholar, but I have been studying the Bible for many years. I do have at least a clue, not all the clues and answers, but a clue nonetheless.

God has set this planet, stars, and other things in motion. We have air to breath, water to drink, sun for nourishment and so on. It’s great the way the rain falls and waters the plants and then fruit grows and we eat. Things are good and God is good!

People say to me, “Joe, look what God did in Oklahoma?” To that I reply, “Did He?” I say No, He didn’t! Insurance companies and ignorant (uninformed) people have blamed God for many things over the years.

First, many people who blame God for these disasters (acts of God) don’t even believe in Him! How hypocritical is that?!

Second, many people who blame God for these things won’t let Him in their lives. They want Him out of schools, holidays, Christmas, and so on!

My Christian friends know, we have an enemy. Remember Satan? If God is love why would He wipe out your home and family? What kind of love is that? That’s like telling your wife you love her just before you slap her. Really?

Now here is where I will lose some of you (goodbye, see you next week).

My Bible says “The thief (Satan) comes to steal, kill and destroy but I (Jesus/God) have come that you may have life and life more abundantly”. God comes to give, Satan comes to take. Satan destroys, he perverts things. God created weather patterns to help the land and the earth to grow vegetation and to give us life, not kill people and destroy them.

God, not the Devil, has worked in the hearts and minds of many to send them to help the victims of those storms, to bring them water and food and all their needs in this time, not the government (I know people get them confused at times).

So if you are a God-loving person, pray for those people in the affected areas. If you’re not a praying person, then send “positive feelings” their way. Just remember, God is not mad at the people in Oklahoma. He loves them, which is why He is sending them help.

God Bless America.

COEXIST is Not for Me !

You’ve probably seen it on bumper stickers or maybe even on a sign recently held around town at a protest rally. But really, it’s not for me, I’m not allowed. That’s right. There are people who want us to COEXIST. They want everyone to get along, but only on their terms. They want everyone to accept each other’s differences, but only within their guidelines. And, apparently, I don’t fit.

I’m not speaking simply from observation, but from personal experience. According to the COEXIST Foundation, they are a non-profit organization creating understanding across divides. Does “understanding” mean forced acceptance? According to most who say they believe in the COEXIST movement this seems to be the case.

For me coexist means that you are allowed to worship your god and I am allowed to worship my God. Neither has to hide in a closet or behind closed doors. It means that you may not understand my beliefs but you allow me to believe them and practice them as my faith requires me to.

COEXISTers will picket and protest and ask that certain religious groups (Christians) refrain from calling abortion murder. Why? It’s what the Bible teaches us. Shouldn’t we be allowed to speak what God teaches? Wouldn’t that be COEXISTing?

COEXISTers will picket and protest and ask that certain religious groups (Christians) refrain from calling the gay or lesbian lifestyle sin even though that’s what the Bible teaches us.

COEXISTers will picket and protest and ask that certain religious groups (Christians) refrain from teaching our kids to abstain from sex before marriage even though it’s what the Bible teaches us.

So, basically, the COEXISTers want us to COEXIST with them but without our “Owner’s Manual”.

As Christians, the Bible is our “Owner’s Manual” with instructions on how we are to live our lives.

The COEXIST Foundation website asks…
“What is it that makes Coexist distinctive among others working to promote better understanding between faiths?”

The problem with this question is that it sounds good, but it doesn’t reflect what’s happening. There were major “riffs” between the COEXIST people and the mainstream Christian and Mormon churches over California’s Prop 8. However, if the goal is to understand then why would they not simply accept that these two groups understood the Bible to say that the sacrament of marriage is between a man and a woman as stated by God?

When the COEXIST people verbally ridicule others for what they believe doesn’t that go against their basic tenants? Are they really trying to understand, I think NOT!
The website goes on to state, “while we recognize and celebrate the many connections between the Abrahamic faiths, we also acknowledge their differences and distinctiveness. We believe we learn more about ourselves and our own traditions by looking respectfully at others’. So Coexist is not just about good relations: it is also about exploring our own convictions and beliefs.”

WOW! Another great statement. But it doesn’t match. Their actions show they are not willing to allow us to live out what we believe. Many who ascribe to the COEXIST philosophy have written nasty things about those of us who live by and adhere to our Biblical principles. If I speak out (not in hate, always in love) about things against God’s word that they may not agree with, they will call me a hater.

Take gay marriage for example. The mainstream Episcopalian church believes in same sex marriage. Mainstream Christian churches believe that God has called us to marry, have children, and repopulate the earth. It’s hard to do this from a same sex position. Yet instead of tolerating that viewpoint, they call us ignorant haters. This does not sound like a group that wants to coexist.

My biggest issue with many on the COEXIST side is that they are quick to let those of us who want to hold strong to our Christian beliefs just how wrong we are. They actively seek us out to picket and write opinion pieces about how they are for equality for all.

But that isn’t really the truth either. Have they ever fought for the Christian kids to have a right to include the name of Jesus in a campus speech? Have they ever fought for the Christian kids to be able to promote their faith on campus through clubs and activities? Do they fight for the any kids to support the rights of the unborn on campus? The answer is “no” to all of the above. But wouldn’t that be “equality for all”?

From what I’ve observed, COEXIST is exclusively for them, but it’s NO-EXIST for us.

If you want equality it goes both ways and applies to everyone.

The Assault on Education!

 The Assault on Education!

I am coming up on my 500th radio show. Go Figure! I was looking back on the titles and content of the shows, I realized that one of the topics most discussed is education, not necessarily how good it is, but how our children are being taught contrary to the many of our basic beliefs and facts.

DISCLAMER! Read carefully before proceeding.

Not ALL teachers are doing this. Not all school districts are not doing this. Not all administrators are doing this. But, there are enough of them doing it that it should bother you.

When it comes to K-12, I believe our education system needs to get back to reading, writing, and arithmetic. That’s their job. Not social issues and not revisionist history.

On the social side we’re teaching topics such as, “How to put on a condom”, “What type of sexual situations are acceptable?”, “Religion: Myth or Truth”, “Do sports like dodge ball  teach bullying?”

We are 47th in the world when it comes to math and science and we are worried that a child will not know how to use a condom. A side note here, a recent study showed teenage pregnancy and abortion rates are down, but it’s because of abstinence not condom usage. Go find that tidbit in the mainstream media. Sadly, abstinence is not usually taught in schools. It’s taught in churches, places of worship, and homes.

Your children are being taught that it’s normal to have sex at 12, 13, 14, and so on, as long as you have protection. Do you really think this is a lesson to be taught at school? Your children are being taught that all forms, types, and styles of sex are permissible as long as you are properly instructed in technique and safety. Do you think this is a lesson that should be taught in school?

Your daughter can be taken to Planned Parenthood for an abortion, off school property, without your knowledge. But if she has a headache, she has to suffer through because they can’t administer drugs (aspirin, ibuprofen, etc.) to her without your written permission. And if you send someone like grandma or grandpa to pick your child up from school and they are not on “the list” your child can’t go home with them. Hello? There is something wrong here.

Even one district that I’m aware of to-date teaches about “bestiality” because children may experiment with it and we need to make sure they know how to be safe in it. I wish I were kidding! And guess what parents? You can’t opt out!

When it comes to history we are in worse shape, from Columbus being nothing more than a mass murderer because of all the Native Americans he slaughtered, to the Pilgrims who were the first Mafia organization in America, to the Founding Fathers who were nothing more than old, white slave owners. Let’s reflect on that last one. When you tell young children that the Founding Fathers of this nation had money and were mostly white, religious fanatics who owned slaves, what impression do you think that makes on a young, impressionable mind?

Then you go on to teach things like how America, the bully, needlessly killed millions of Japanese, restarting WWII by dropping bombs on them just when the ware was coming to an end. Yes, that’s actually a chapter in a history book. In what time warp did that happen? Even today’s Japanese historians admit that the U.S. dropping those bombs saved millions of lives all over the world. But those in education that hate America in its current state won’t allow the facts to prevail. They know, like Hitler did, that if you indoctrinate the youth you can eventually change the country.

America is a great nation. America has stepped in to help many a nation on humanitarian causes; food, healthcare, disaster relief. Americans give more money to nations after a national disaster than all others combined.

We are told by many political experts that we should be looking for the good in nations and peoples. How about they start right here at home? America is the greatest nation on this planet. Yes, we have our flaws, but we are continually working to fix them. I can’t image being a citizen of any other country.

These are just a few examples. It can seem disheartening, but there is good news. It’s a common thread, when a parent got involved, things change. They checked their child’s backpack and regularly asked what they learned in school that day. Then they followed up with the school when something didn’t look or sound right.

The important thing, parents, is to stay engaged and involved in your child’s life more than just asking whether they did their homework or not. If you don’t like what you hear, call the school. If you don’t get the proper answer there, call the district office, go to a school board meeting, and like our Founding Fathers, never give up, never stop the fight. Our children are our future. You can and will make a difference.

They are not TERRORISTS, they are COWARDS!

Originally, I wasn’t going to write about the Boston bombing because I didn’t think there was much that could be added to what was being said over and over on every station. My thoughts and prayers go out to the families who lost loved ones or had a loved one hurt. I also would commend the efforts of all agencies involved in catching the cowards who did this. Yes, COWARDS! You can call them terrorists, jihadists, or home-grown terrorists, but really, I call them what they are… cowards.

They hunt out and plan to hurt innocent people and children. They do it in a sneaky way, in the shadows, with no courage and no spine.

It takes cold hard courage to look the person in the eyes that you are about to kill or blow up. You’d have to look at them, their humanity, their emotion, their fear and then kill them. Cowards can’t do that.

But what does it take to do what they do, to plant bombs where no one will notice? They’re not placed to protect anything or keep someone out of where they shouldn’t be. They are placed to simply cause as much human suffering as possible, by cowards. I keep saying that because you shouldn’t think of them as freedom fighters or religious zealots or anything else but simply a coward!

While perusing Facebook and other blog-type sites most of the posts talk about what a great job the police and authorities are doing. There were also comments about the cowards being “freedom fighters”, that they felt oppressed, or that they were “set up”. PLEASE! Don’t even go there!

There are evil people in this world, period. Hitler, Stalin, and so on are prime examples. People who will kill you because they can’t take responsibility for their own actions, their own failures, their own inability to make a life for themselves.

The coward killers that committed the Boston bombings were just out to do evil. You will be told that it’s because of a religious jihad or because they are radical Islamists. In this case, I submit, they were just evil people.

People don’t become evil because they “join” a religion or because they join a movement. It starts long before then. Many people leave a religion or group because they feel it’s going in the wrong direction or the principles change. Those people have character and truly want to do the right thing. But evil people seek out evil and justification for their anger to back up their hateful actions.

It’s a warped way of thinking when hateful people think they have been wronged by the big, bad devil known as the United States. The good life and the freedom we have make them mad because they don’t agree with it or they think they can never achieve it or worse, have tried and failed and need someone else to blame.

So the cowards kill and destroy because they think they are justified. They think they have divine guidance, but all they have is hate and evil.

Don’t feel bad for bombers, as misguided as they may be. These cowards knew what they were doing… and they didn’t care.

Pray for the families that lost loved ones and those who have family members recovering from injuries. If you don’t pray, then send good thoughts or feelings their way. They need all the help we can send.

No Attack on Religion, MY @$$ !!!

Not all religions are under attack. It seems the emphasis is on Christian-based religions. Let’s go over a couple of examples.

According to the AP and other news sources, an LGBTQ group (for the uniformed that stands for “Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer”) has asked that a priest be removed from George Washington University. They want Father Greg Shaffer removed from campus over his anti-gay and anti-abortion views.

Damian Legacy and Blake Bergen want the university’s Office for Diversity and Inclusion to investigate the priest and are calling for the student government association to defund the Newman Center on campus.

News reports indicate they were particularly offended by a blog post the priest wrote calling gay relationships “unnatural and immoral.”

Interesting. This doesn’t sound like they really care to have someone with a diverse thought process to be included. In fact, it doesn’t sound at all like they want to understand why he believes what he does. Isn’t that intolerance? And does the priest not have a right to express what the Catholic Church teaches? The church that he works for and pledged an oath to is dedicated to upholding the truth according to God’s word (as laid out in the Bible) and it’s what he believes.

Did they not know what the Catholic Churches believe and teach? Did they not know what 99.9% of Catholic priests believe? A testimony about how deeply the left does their homework.

This is one of the few cases where the school has shown some spine. School officials have said it protects the right of religious freedom and is defending the rights of all religious beliefs to express themselves.

Newman Center, the building in which the priest was teaching, is a Catholic-based center. The have Catholic Mass in there and teach the principles of the Catholic faith. No one is forced to go and participate.  So what’s wrong here? I’ll tell you. It’s all about hate! Period!

The people who complained about a Catholic priest teaching Catholic principles in a Catholic hall are just hateful.

This shows the real hypocrisy of the Left. If I say I don’t believe in gay marriage and I don’t believe that same sex couples should be allowed to be married, then I am, or will be, labeled a “homophobe” and “gay hater”. They say we should be silenced and not allowed to teach in our churches what the Bible clearly states about marriage, abortion, and so on. They say it’s hate speech.

When they speak against Christians, it’s considered freedom of speech. But when Christians speak against LGBTQ lifestyles, it’s hate speech. Really! How disingenuous can one be?

Then, there is the kid who asked the teacher for a Bible. No way, you say? Yes! Another news source posts, “The teacher’s trouble started last October when he was standing by a door waiting on middle school students to enter the building. One student trailed behind the rest.

“Just remember, son,” Tutka told the tardy student, “The first shall be last but the last shall be first.”  A few days later the student asked about the origins of the quote. Tutka told him it was in the Bible.” There’s that nasty word, and being uttered in a school, oh my! Doesn’t sound like the teacher was pushing his views, but let’s continue.

“On Oct. 12th, the teacher was eating lunch in the cafeteria when the student approached and brought up the Bible verse. So the teacher took out his Bible and showed the student the verse.

“At some point the student mentioned that he did not have a Bible. The teacher, who also serves in Gideons International, happened to have a spare book.

“The teacher basically said, ‘would you like mine’ said a friend of the teacher and a fellow Gideon. “The student said yes and so the teacher gave him his personal New Testament.”

Still doesn’t sound like pushing his religious beliefs to me! So what happens next? He was fired! What did he do wrong? They hand out all kinds of flyers and books on sex and how to and where to and with how many to the kids who didn’t ask for them, but when a teacher, who is asked specifically about a book the student is curious about is forbidden from sharing? Just outrageous!

There are so many examples of these kinds of incidents happening more and more in our schools. Only a dishonest person would say there is no attack on religious liberties in this country.

Who wants to watch that Bible crap?

“The Bible,” a five-week series on the History Channel, has ended. No big deal. Who’d watch this kind of thing anyway, and who cares?

The most-watched TV shows are reality shows. Don’t you want to watch shows where people are worse off and nastier than you? And let’s not forget “The Walking Dead,” a show about zombies, which some would say is also a reality show. What redeeming values. And then there are shows like “Greys Anatomy” where doctors and nurses are getting it on like rabbits before Easter.

Aren’t these shows what people want? Apparently not. Reality, zombie and vampire shows are popular among our youth. “The Bible” series pulled in more than 13.1 viewers, of which 5.6 million were between 18 and 45. Wow! Who would have thought 18-year-olds were interested in Bible stories?

These numbers are considered an enormous audience by normal TV broadcast standards. What happened? Those liberal fruitcakes in Hollywood think good, wholesome programming with solid family and moral values won’t sell. Obviously they’re wrong.

Tyler Perry has repeatedly proven them wrong, as well. His “Madea” series has made hundreds of millions of dollars, and he has written directed and produced many other feel-good, wholesome, God-centered movies that have also gone on to make hundreds of millions of dollars. Go figure.

So why wouldn’t Hollywood want to cash in on this viewership? Because they are so sold out to their godless, moral-less agenda that they are willing to make less money. Instead we are bombarded with shows like “The Simpsons,” “Family Man” and “South Park” – shows that force the notion on our young people that parents, fathers in particular, are so inept that they are not to be listened to or obeyed. The family unit, religion, moral values and just good clean TV are not what we should subscribe to.

What, then, should we be watching? Vampire and zombie movies that show a romantic side to death, right? That dark side is kind of sexy and fun. We are so turned around as a society. They even tried to shove a show like “GCB” (Good Christian Bitches) down our throats because they loath what Christianity stands for and want to discredit it. What cowards. Were they also going to produce “Good Islamic Bitches” or “Good Buddhist Bitches”? Doubtful.

“The Bible” series, the Tyler Perry movies, “The Cosby Show,” “Touched by an Angel” and “Fairly Odd Parents” are but a few of many, good wholesome shows that make, and made, money, and keep making money in syndication. They have good characters with good parents in them with wholesome story lines and a useful lesson to every show.

The cable channel “ME-TV” is doing fantastic, making money, and has a rapidly growing audience. Why? Listen up, Hollywood! Because people want some good, clean, wholesome programming. But instead, the industry keeps pushing broken families, sexual perversion and down-trodden, no-way-out garbage on us, and you, the general viewer, allow it.

If you want good programming, fight back. Don’t support the shows and stations that don’t promote your values, and let them know you’re doing it.

As those Hollywood executives are sitting around trying to figure out how and why this happened, show them you care. Show them they must stop treating you like a bunch of mindless, careless idiots. Take time to see what your kids are watching, and don’t support those that sponsor these moral-less shows.

Politicizing the Pope!

The liberals are at it again. We have a new Pope. I am not a Catholic, but I say “we” because I understand the importance of the Pope and the influence he has for Catholics around the world. Over one billion Catholics acknowledge him as the spiritual leader of the church on this earth. Many from within the Vatican are very excited about Pope Francis!

The former Cardinal, Jorge Mario Bergoglio, is the first Pope to use the name Francis. Why? And does it really matter? No, not for this opinion piece. But it does have a bit to do with the fact that they are calling him “The Reformer.”

The main stream media was all a-buzz saying “maybe this guy will get it” and “maybe this guy will see the light, get in line with the rest of the world, and reform the Catholic church to accept gay marriage, abortion, and women priests.” Why stop there? How about a stance on gender neutrality, transgender lifestyles, and, as far as, marriage goes, how about multiple spouses, 2 men + 3 women, 2 women + 3 men and a dog? Where does it stop?

The Catholic Church is not a democracy and it’s not a republic. It’s a dictatorship and the dictator (not the Pope, but God himself) holds all the cards. The Catholic Church believes the Bible contains the infallible word of God. It doesn’t matter what you believe.

Most theist religions believe their God has given them a manual and guidelines to live by. These are not up for debate or argument about changing. The Pope is not allowed to make changes to God’s word. He doesn’t get to decide that he doesn’t like the meaning of a scripture or commandment and can just change it. The Pope simply makes sure that the “church organization and flock” have the information and resources needed to follow those existing rules. If you don’t like what he (and the church) stands for, then get out of that religion and go on your way. Really! It’s just that simple. He has the right, as he did this week, to come out and reiterate his stance against gay marriage and abortion. That’s what he is expected to do as leader of the Catholic Church.

Based on his actions in the past, “The Reformer,” as he is known, will work to clean up the day-to-day organizational running of the church, the finances, the chain of authority, discipline, and so on. He did this in his locality as a cardinal and there is great expectation that he’ll do similarly as pope. Time will tell.

Now, back to the main stream liberal media. They hear “reformer” and immediately think that maybe Pope Francis will be taking a new look at these social-political issues and then bring the church into the 21st century. The liberal stations were humming and cautiously optimistic. I could have saved them many hours of speculation. This really shows just how out of touch they are with the basic foundations of religion in general.

Do they really think they know better than God? Have they even tried to grasp what the church stands for, what scripture means, or how important God and the Pope is to Catholics? Even Bible thumping, non-gun-toting Democrats (who are also Catholics) understand this.

Commentators like Rachel Maddow and Chris Mathews said things like: “this Pope has the opportunity to bring great chance to this Church.” Hello! Jesus already did that.

The Pope’s job is to make sure that the flock he has been charged to oversee has what it needs to please God based on the words in his holy book. Period. That’s it.

So to all you liberals out there who think you have the answers and want the Catholic Church to change, do what Martin Luther did. First you’ll have to look at and study scripture, but then maybe you can start your own religious order of the Gay, Lesbian, Transgender, Abortive, Left-wing, Socialist Situational Catholicism.

Let me know how that works out for you.

Religion under attack in America!

In my not so humble opinion I believe Religion of all kinds are under attack here in America. However the target or focus is Christionesq in nature.

Lets start with the Pope announcing his resignation from his position due to health issues. This was a BIG deal in and out of the Catholic community. Many Catholics were saddened to hear of his early departure. Many NON-Catholics and Non-Religious people said there were other reasons, sinister reasons. There were many more issues that were going to come out against the church and they wanted him out of the way (whomever they are?).

How about this, pay attention I am going to make it as plain as I can.  He is old, He is sick and feeble and feels that he needs to get out of the way to best serve the institution he loves. IMAGINE THAT!

Look, we have become so cynical as a society that no one does anything for honorable reasons (unless your Democrat, at that point it seems that EVERYTHING a Dem does is for honorable reasons, but that’s another story for another day)

There are still many people who believe that their God and their church is worth sacrificing or dedicating their life to.  Its not a club or a group or a committee. It s a belief. There are some out there, mostly on the left who have said that this is a great opportunity for the Catholic church to “upgrade itself, Woman priests, Woman Pope, Gay marriage, abortion and more..

To a Catholic/Christian Gods word is that HIS word, HE gets to change it not us! Scripture is very clear on the above with the exception of a few “progressive” scholars almost all agree on what God word says about these things. These are GOD’s laws for us, For us to live by. We are not to ignore them or

Maybe there is a direct correlation between our disregard for religion and our disregard for our Constitution and its laws. People are you sold out to anything? Lets make it simple. I am sold out to my wife, I believe in her, I love her, I trust her, I trust her word and her actions especially as it pertains to us.
I believe in her so much that I don’t try to change her. She may have some minor things I don’t care for BUT they aren’t important enough to take up brain space. I joined with her for who she is.

When someone joins a church and believes in its core values, those values are unchangeable.
Asking someone to go against scripture is like asking or encouraging a child to disobey their parents.

Progressives don’t seem to get that. They don’t seem to get that there are foundations that make Religions and this Country Great. If they make one in the group uncomfortable change them, If you don’t believe they are right, change them. REALLY!

How about this if they make you uncomfortable step up or leave the group!, If you don’t believe or agree with them, Leave the group (or move!) Progessives don’t seem to understand that!

Progressives don’t seem to have boundaries or rules that are cemented in, facts and proof don’t seem to be important in making decisions.

You cannot ask Religious people to go against their creator, their creators’ words it wont work. Its called  being dedicated.

Progressives keep asking religious people and institutions to give up their individuality, come in line with the rest of society, “get with the program” except what society accepts!

Fist the constitution, now religion next comes Socialism, check out your history people.

Don’t let it happen to US!

What next male waiters at HOOTER?

As a kid I remember having our GHC Club. That was the “Girls have Cooties” Club, if you were wondering. Only boys, and more specifically, only local shoe shine boys, were members.

That was the early 1970s. I lived in the city streets of Boston, before it was cool to live in a city like that, by the waterfront, before there were such things as condos. I joined the Cub Scouts probably because my mom (a single mom) thought it would be good for me to get into the woods see what real trees and grass looked like, and so I would have strong male role models.

When we moved to live close to my cousins, my new Cub Scout den leader also happened to be my aunt. Eww! A girl was leading the boys. How could that be?

It was very different. I was a little boy who needed guidance, and I needed a man to teach me how to be a man. A plumber can’t teach you how to be a jeweler any more than a woman can teach a boy to be a man or a man can teach a little girl to be a woman.

The Boy Scouts of America recently decided, after years of pressure, to allow gays to be Scout leaders. The decision was based largely on corporate pressure applied by pro-gay companies that threatened to pull funding (which they have every right to do). As a result, the Boy Scouts are “re-thinking” their rules.

The BSA decided not to force local chapters to accept gays (which they also have every right to do). Good for them, for now. It’s only a matter of time.

Religious groups that have always supported the Boy Scouts in a big way are now re-thinking their involvement with the group as a result of this change.

President Obama recently said he thinks the Boy Scouts should allow gays at every level in the organization. Once again, the president thinks, then speaks, and the damage begins.

Is anything sacred? Is any group allowed to have its own set of rules and way of doing things?

Now, don’t get radical on me, I’m not talking the KKK; the last I heard, the Boy Scouts aren’t burning crosses on lawns.

Maybe we should disband the Girl Scouts, Boys Scouts, Eagle Scouts, Brownies, Cubs Scouts, Weebelos and just make one big “Gender Neutral Scouts” or just “Scouts.” Do you see how ridiculous this gets?

Leave the Boy Scouts alone. Leave the Girl Scouts alone. If you want to show strength and diversity the American way, start the LGBT Scouts or any other kind of “Scouting” you want. Because they are different – as different as boys are different from girls, and as men are different from women.

We should continue to have the freedom to allow clubs, groups and churches the ability to serve specific subsets of people with common interests and beliefs without government intervention.

Just because the president thinks the Boy Scouts should allow gays at all levels, that doesn’t mean it’s the way things should be. This is a private organization. The government should be concerned with jobs and the economy, not interfering with the mission and goals of an organization it “feels” is not being fair to all human beings.

What’s next? Do Asian-American clubs now have to grant membership to those with Italian, Greek or whatever heritage? Will Hooters be forced to have male waitresses? I could fill up one of those T-shirts, but there wouldn’t be any people at my tables.

The government has no business getting involved in every aspect of our lives, every club, every organization or business. And the president doesn’t have all of the answers. Otherwise, we wouldn’t continue to be sinking deeper into the mess we’re in as a nation.

We the People ?

We the People?

Each week I listen to hours of speeches and videos. My mind is filled with useless garbage from the audio and visual assaults that I endure for my audience weekly. This week, I heard the words “We the People” repeatedly.

The President of these United States, for the first time in one of his speeches, used it more times than he used the words “I” and “me”. In his inauguration speech he used it 88 times! Yes, 88 times he aligned himself with “We the People”.

Who the People? When he said “We the People” needed to deal with climate change, what he meant was you American taxpayers, ALL of you, not just the rich, need to start paying to fix the problems all of mankind supposedly has done to the climate. Interestingly, we the people, as a whole, don’t even believe that manmade climate change even exists. More and more scientists are running away from climate change. Why do you think they renamed it from “global warming” to “climate change”? They couldn’t sell the freak snow storms and crazy arctic blasts as part of global warming, that’s why!

He said Progress does not compel us to settle centuries-long debates about the role of government for all time, but it does require us to act in our time.”

Government’s role WAS determined by our founding fathers. It was to be the least intrusive entity in our lives. Government should be as noticeable as grass growing.

He goes on to say My fellow Americans, the oath I have sworn before you today, like the one recited by others who serve in this Capitol, was an oath to God and country, not party or faction. And we must faithfully execute that pledge during the duration of our service.” SERIOUSLY!
President Obama has made it clear that God has no place in government. He has refused to attend or issue a proclamation about the yearly prayer breakfast. To then invoke after that God is blatantly hypocritical. Saying that a botched late term abortion leaving the “fetus” twitching on a table to die when it actually could still be saved (by the way, the fetus, once it leaves the womb, is now scientifically called a baby Mr. President) but now invoking the name of God is hypocritical.

How is it that President Obama trusts the few scientists left who tell us that climate change (formerly known as global warming) is real? However, when a majority of scientists believe that a life begins at conception, they must be wrong? If we can believe a single frozen cell recently found on Mars is a life form, then a fetus with millions of cells should be given at least the same value! Using scientific evidence only when it serves a desired goal is dishonest.

As one pundit states: “I can’t think of a better way for him to have begun his second term. It was a speech of unity and tolerance, but also one intended to remind everyone that citizenship carries responsibility with it. While I’m sure there are some exploding wingnut heads, I do think reasonable people should hear what he said for what it is: A reminder that it’s not just about Barack Obama, but every one of us.”

She means every progressive. “We the People” was not “Me the People”.  The majority of Americans still think the healthcare plan in its current state is a bad idea, and they still think the country is headed in the wrong direction.

Mr. Obama, what “We the People” were you referring to? Your speech was about power that you seem to think you have total control over. That is not “We the People” .

Listen up “We the People”… we are in for a world of hurt in the coming years unless you wake up make some changes.

So Green is Good?

Less oil, less pollution, just less! We are told that green energy is the direction we need to go. We need solar panels, wind power, battery power, but why?

So far, it’s mostly been a failure, yet we keep throwing money at it. Your money and my money.

If we have a viable way to use alternative energy I’m all for it. But I don’t want to keep throwing money at technology that’s not working.

Many major inventions were discovered with private money by great people. When you are using your own money and time you work harder, waste less, and work with more attention to detail. WHY? Because you don’t have an open checkbook and can’t afford to work on it (whatever IT is) forever. When the government backs you, there are few restrictions especially when it comes to green technology.

President Obama is so sure of green that he promised to put 1 million electric cars on the road by 2015.  He has invested over $5 billion in taxpayer money and offered $7,500 per vehicle in rebates. All of this WITH YOUR MONEY! With less than 2 years to go we are a whopping 5% of the way there!

In the REAL business world with limited capital we would “Stop the Insanity” and re-check our plan. This plan is in such bad health we should consider applying Obamacare to it, that would kill it for certain.

A few auto companies have jumped on the green gravy train including Nissan and Tesla.

We loaned a Taiwanese company $160 million to build Volt batteries in Ohio. The money was supposed to help build the plant, hire American workers, and lend support to the electric car industry. AS in all American Government takeovers, it didn’t work out that way. The owner of the manufacturing plant was a foreign company, most workers and management were foreign nationals, and NOT ONE BATTERY was manufactured and used in an electric car. The plant shut down last month and now Volt batteries are made oversees.  Thank you Obama administration!

Nissan received $1.4 billion in TAXPAYER money (your and my money). It is at least putting together electric cars in Tennessee, but it needs to build a bigger storage lot for all the cars it is producing and not moving.

There are over 250 million passenger cars in America. 2012 saw only 34,000 electric cars sold. This is from 5 car manufacturers. SERIOUSLY?! Chevy had expected to sell 45,000 Volts in 2012. Yes, Chevy alone! This was with bailout money intended to help the Green cause. The Green growing is the moss in those cars being stored by the river because they are not selling! They are in storage and the Volt plant shut down for a few months to slow production.

What a blessing that was to the America taxpayer because it’s estimated that it costs the American taxpayer almost $50,000 a Volt in subsidies to produce the vehicle. Yep, you’re paying for a car you get no use or benefit from.Tesla, failed technology

In 2012 Nissan sold 9800 EV’s, Volt sold 23,000, Toyota 12,700 (average 20 mile range), Tesla 3,200, Ford Focus sold 650 EV’s, and Mitsubishi sold 92 in 2012 (600 since inception!) If these vehicles are such a wonderful thing and in such demand, why have so few been sold? Especially with a $7,500 rebate!?

How long do we hold on for a failed technology? How long do we keep wasting your money? My money? This is wrong! The government needs to get out of the bailout business, the green business, and the healthcare business and get back to the business of the people. PERIOD!

Call the Superintendent and THANK HIM!

I often ask you to contact people to encourage them to rethink a stance or to express dismay at an action. But we also need to provide encouragement to those under fire for “doing the right thing” no matter how hard it might be. Please send Mr. Hefner a quick email or give his office a phone call (if you can’t email) and let him know you support his decision. Mr. Hefner is a true PATRIOT who understands the meaning of our flag and what it represents. Yes, the flag is a symbol, but it is something to be handled with respect and that respect needs to be taught to our young people.

Here are the details about what happened and links for reference:

A high-school English teacher in Chapin, S.C., has been accused of throwing the American flag to the ground and stomping on it in front of his classes… “This is a symbol, but it’s only a piece of cloth. It doesn’t mean anything.”…The class will have a permanent replacement for the rest of the year, according to WISTV. There has been no official word on the status of the teacher in question.

Scott Compton, a South Carolina high school teacher, is facing possible dismissal by his school board for stomping on an American flag in three of his classes last month…“The superintendent thought the best course of action for Compton is termination, but the case has to go to the local board and they will ultimately decide whether or not to support the superintendent’s decision.”

Fools on the second ammendment?

Quotes on the Second Amendment
From Our Founding Fathers

“I ask, Sir, what is the militia? It is the whole people. To disarm the people is the best and most effectual way to enslave them.”
George Mason
Co-author of the Second Amendment
during Virginia’s Convention to Ratify the Constitution, 1788

“A militia, when properly formed, are in fact the people themselves …”
Richard Henry Lee
writing in Letters from the Federal Farmer to the Republic, Letter XVIII, May, 1788.

“The people are not to be disarmed of their weapons. They are left in full posession of them.”
Zachariah Johnson
Elliot’s Debates, vol. 3 “The Debates in the Several State Conventions on the Adoption of the Federal Constitution.”

“… the people are confirmed by the next article in their right to keep and bear their private arms”
Philadelphia Federal Gazette
June 18, 1789, Pg. 2, Col. 2
Article on the Bill of Rights

“And that the said Constitution be never construed to authorize Congress to infringe the just liberty of the Press, or the rights of Conscience; or to prevent the people of the United States, who are peaceable citizens, from keeping their own arms; …”
Samuel Adams
quoted in the Philadelphia Independent Gazetteer, August 20, 1789
“Propositions submitted to the Convention of this State”

The Founding Fathers on Arms

“Firearms stand next in importance to the constitution itself. They are the American people’s liberty teeth and keystone under independence … from the hour the Pilgrims landed to the present day, events, occurences and tendencies prove that to ensure peace security and happiness, the rifle and pistol are equally indispensable … the very atmosphere of firearms anywhere restrains evil interference — they deserve a place of honor with all that’s good.”
George Washington  …    First President of the United States

“The supposed quietude of a good man allures the ruffian; while on the other hand arms, like laws, discourage and keep the invader and plunderer in awe, and preserve order in the world as property. The same balance would be preserved were all the world destitute of arms, for all would be alike; but since some will not, others dare not lay them aside … Horrid mischief would ensue were the law-abiding deprived of the use of them.”
Thomas Paine

“To preserve liberty, it is essential that the whole body of the people always possess arms and be taught alike, especially when young, how to use them.”
Richard Henry Lee …  American Statesman, 1788

“The great object is that every man be armed.” and “Everyone who is able may have a gun.”
Patrick Henry … American Patriot

“Are we at last brought to such humiliating and debasing degradation, that we cannot be trusted with arms for our defense? Where is the difference between having our arms in possession and under our direction and having them under the management of Congress? If our defense be the real object of having those arms, in whose hands can they be trusted with more propriety, or equal safety to us, as in our own hands?”
Patrick Henry   …   American Patriot

“Those who hammer their guns into plowshares will plow for those who do not.”
Thomas Jefferson   …   Third President of the United States

“The constitutions of most of our States assert that all power is inherent in the people; that … it is their right and duty to be at all times armed; … “
Thomas Jefferson  …   letter to Justice John Cartwright, June 5, 1824. ME 16:45.

“The best we can help for concerning the people at large is that they be properly armed.”
Alexander Hamilton
The Federalist Papers at 184-8

The Founding Fathers on Maintaining Freedom

“The greatest danger to American freedom is a government that ignores the Constitution.”
Thomas Jefferson … Third President of the United States

“There are men in all ages who mean to govern well, but they mean to govern. They promise to be good masters, but they mean to be masters. “
Noah Webster  …   American Lexicographer

“The people never give up their liberties but under some delusion.”
Edmund Burke  …  British Statesman, 1784

“What country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance. Let them take arms.”
Thomas Jefferson … to James Madison

“They that give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety.”
Ben Franklin  … American Statesman

Later Quotes on Gun Control

“The ruling class doesn’t care about public safety. Having made it very difficult for States and localities to police themselves, having left ordinary citizens with no choice but to protect themselves as best they can, they now try to take our guns away. In fact they blame us and our guns for crime. This is so wrong that it cannot be an honest mistake.”
Malcolm Wallop  …   former U.S. Sen. (R-WY)

“An armed man is a citizen. A disarmed man is a subject.” Anon.
Seen on a bumper sticker

Pro Gun Control

“Our main agenda is to have all guns banned. We must use whatever means possible. It doesn’t matter if you have to distort the facts or even lie. Our task of creating a socialist America can only succeed when those who would resist us have been totally disarmed.”
Sara Brady … Chairman, Handgun Control Inc, to Senator Howard Metzenbaum
The National Educator, January 1994, Page 3.

“If you wish the sympathy of the broad masses, you must tell them the crudest and most stupid things.”
“This year will go down in history. For the first time, a civilized nation has full gun registration. Our streets will be safer, our police more efficient, and the world will follow our lead into the future!”
Adolph Hitler   … Chancellor, Germany, 1933
