A Wall Around the Capital But Not the Southern Border?

The U.S. Capitol could eventually become a permanent Green Zone – drawing fire from nationally-syndicated radio host Todd Starnes.

“So they want to build a wall around the U.S. Capitol to protect lawmakers, but they won’t build a wall along the southern border to protect American cities,” Starnes said. “What does it say about the validity of American elections when you have to build a wall to keep the people out of the people’s house?”

Yoganada Pittman, the chief of the Capitol police, said Thursday that her team is looking into how to better secure the property, and said the fencing should be permanent, according to the Daily Wire.

Critics point to what they see as a humorous juxtaposition since Pittman’s comments came days after President Biden signed an executive order that canceled the construction of the border wall.
