Did we dodge a bullet with Romney ?

Senator Mitt Romney (R-UT) is just pathetic and has proved this once again by deciding to join the Democrats in assaulting President Trump over the coronavirus.

“I’m very disappointed in the degree to which we’ve prepared for a pandemic, both in terms of protective equipment and in terms of medical devices that would help people once they are infected,” Romney told The Hill, “At this stage, I think we are substantially underinvesting in what would be appropriate for a setting which could be serious.”

As a member of the Senate Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions Committee Romney said that a further major outbreak in the county could be forestalled but said: “we don’t know what the future holds.”

The senator then said, “I think we should be pulling out all the stops.”

What Romney conveniently failed to mention is that the Trump administration has already asked for $2.5 billion in emergency funds to deal with this virus.

On his way back from India the President responded to the democrat’s criticism with a couple of tweets.

There have only been 57 confirmed coronaviruses inside the USA to date. This includes 40 American citizens who contracted the virus while on the cruise ship the Diamond Princess in Japan.

Director of the CDCs National Center for Immunization and Respiratory Diseases Dr. Nancy Messonnier told reporters, “As more and more countries experience community spread, successful containment at our borders becomes harder and harder. The data over the last week and spread in other countries has certainly raised our level of concern, and raised our level of expectation that we are going to have community spread here, so that has changed our tone.”

Vigilance and precaution are important, however, we can’t the Romney and the Democrats work us into a panic just because they want to have something to blame on President Trump.
