President Donald Trump tweeted a video Thursday of his predecessor, former President Barack Obama, calling the situation on the U.S.-Mexico border a “crisis.”

Trump addressed the fact that he is being criticized for calling the border situation a “crisis” while talking to reporters on Thursday morning, and pointed out that the former president used the same language. (RELATED: Pence Addresses Immigration ‘Crisis’ With Faith Leaders On Conference Call)

The president hammered the point again by tweeting out a video of Obama stating that there is a “humanitarian crisis on the border” from 2014.

“We now have an actual humanitarian crisis on the border that underscores the need to drop the politics and fix our immigration system once and for all,” Obama said at the time.

The Washington PostCBSMSNBCCNN, and numerous other media outlets similarly referred to an immigration “crisis” in 2014. At the time, tens of thousands of unaccompanied migrant children were apprehended at the southern border. According to data from the White House, 50,036 unaccompanied children were apprehended in 2018.
