Dont mess with Texas – ESPECIALLY a flood victim!

In the aftermath of Hurricane Harvey, almost all the media outlets in the United States put people on the ground in the various parts of Texas to see the damage and hear the stories of the horribly destructive storm.

These media crews have interviewed people who have lost everything, who managed to survive the flooding and who found out that loved ones managed to make it out in time before the worst of the storm hit.

One CNN reporter on the ground in Rockport, Texas, interviewed a man named Joe Kirchens, who had a rather interesting take on the entire situation, and gave the CNN reporter quite a talking to.

“I didn’t care to be on TV, but I just want to tell all y’all reporters and the people here, when you’re here, act like this is y’all’s home,” Kirchens stated. “You know, have the respect to report like this is y’all’s … this place is gone so we need help.”

That certainly is a message all the news teams, not just CNN’s, need to remember. While they do have a job to do to inform the United States of the devastation, they should also remember this isn’t just a news story — these are actual people with lives that have been devastated.

Kirchens went on the explain that other communities, and other states, needed to pitch in an help out. Kirchens, whose house survived the storm, also explained that he actually stayed during the storm because he didn’t have enough time to evacuate.
