Actress Sally Field joined Chelsea Handler on the comedian’s Netflix talk show, Chelsea, to express frustration about the results of the presidential election.
Field made several comments that received tumultuous applause from audience members, and demonstrated perfectly how disconnected the Hollywood elites are from the American people.
“I WANT TO KNOW WHY THEY VOTED FOR THIS MAN, WHO DOES NOT STAND FOR ANYTHING.”
Of the final two major candidates in the American presidential election
Donald Trump was the only one who arguably stood for anything.
A strong border security, a stronger vetting process for those wishing to come into the country
and a pledge to bring jobs back to America were just three of the major platform points that Trump ran on.
His opponent, Hillary Clinton, led a campaign whose platform was not so much about what she was going to do while in office
but instead on keeping Trump out of the White House.
“IF YOU LOOK AT HIS PAST, IF YOU LOOK AT HIS HISTORY, THERE’S NO EVIDENCE THAT HE CAN DO ONE SINGLE THING THAT HE SAYS HE’S GOING TO DO.
NOT ONE SINGLE THING.”
Donald Trump has a long history of being a successful businessman.
From popular hotels to steaks, there is ample evidence that Trump has a can-do attitude
that may help in while serving as president.
“I DON’T THINK THAT ALL OF THE PEOPLE WHO VOTED FOR HIM ARE BAD AND HORRIBLE PEOPLE.
I JUST DON’T UNDERSTAND.”
This might have to do with the fact that Hollywood elitists have created an echo chamber
within their tiny bubble on the West Coast
and they are only exposed to news and information that has been filtered through Left-Wing sources.
To them, Obamacare is successful, over 90 million people are not out of work, ISIS is on the run, and life is good.
To the rest of the country, who have been suffering under eight years of fundamental transformation, it is a different story.
“…THEY CALL THIS A DEMOCRACY, YET THE PEOPLE ARE NOT GETTING THE REPRESENTATION THAT THEY VOTED FOR.”
This goes to show just how dim some of the “great-minds” of Hollywood can be.
America is not a Democracy, it never has been, but is instead a Democratic Republic.
The reason why the Founding Fathers designed it that way was to prevent a situation
in which heavily populated areas would decide how the rest of the nation should be ruled.
With the Electoral College, every area, from the vast farmlands to the big cities, gets a say.
