Knock, Knock…Does Anybody Care About the Presidential Election?

Hillary Clinton, Donald Trump

Hillary Clinton, a.k.a., Teflon-don, seemingly just can’t be stopped. Scandal after scandal after scandal plunges forth into the daylight directly linking her and the Clinton Foundation to what appears to be negligent fraud, deception, and potential traitorous acts. She finally graces a “controlled list” of reporters with an interview after not having a press conference in 275 days, immediately goes into a coughing fit in the midst of it and most mainstream media outlets heralds the contrived event a “press conference.” What are the reparations required for such poor form from a Presidential candidate? A pound of flesh? No! She receives a spike in her poll numbers. Who does not talk to the media for 275 days, in a Presidential race, and come out so squeaky clean? Hence the name, Teflon-don.

On the other hand, Donald Trump squeezes in an impromptu visit with the President of Mexico, Enrique Pena Nieto. Although just a Presidential Candidate, he looked Presidential. He stood on an international platform with an international leader and elevated our nation to a position of strength among our allies and foes, alike. Hours later, he flies to Phoenix, AZ to reveal a comprehensive immigration plan that stunned some of his most ardent critics into silence. He conveys his love and appreciation for America. He honors her Gold Star parents. After all of this, how does the mainstream media reward his banner efforts? By absurdly focusing on did President Nieto and Trump discuss who’s paying for the wall to be built? And, whether or not Trump fits the definition of a mental disorder because he had a controlled tone when speaking with President Nieto versus his enthusiastic tone at the Phoenix rally just hours later. Newsflash: The difference in tone had everything to do with setting, not a mental disorder. How absolutely absurd to expect Trump’s demeanor in a diplomatic setting to mirror the setting of a rally? The setting, itself, renders this a moot topic. Yet, it was the lead story on many media outlets.

  • Obama traveled the world, virtually, apologizing EVERY time he stepped off the plane.
  • Hillary traveled the world making deals to benefit the Clinton Foundation (i.e., herself).
  • Trump traveled to Mexico and was a stellar diplomat! He did NOT bow down to apologize on behalf of America. Nor did he throw America under the bus for his own pocket book.

It begs the question, does anyone REALLY care? Does anyone care about the life and death problems the next President of the United States WILL face? Terrorism? Drugs epidemic? ISIS? Russia and Ukraine? The botched Iran Deal? Turkey’s President, Erdogan, strong arm over Germany and the Kurds? Global Islamification? China’s currency manipulation and eastern expansions? Dollar crisis? Supreme Court Justice Selections? The list could go on and on. America, wake up! #NeverTrumpers wake up! Democrats, REALLY, wakeup! Stop with the stupidity. Somebody is going to occupy the WH. Do you really want it to be lying, thieving, slap her own momma HILLARY!?!

We have real problems, which will take real leadership to navigate America and the world through. Instead of discussing these very real and present dangers, we are discussing the potential to make history by electing the first female president. We’re discussing whether Colin Kaepernick has the First Amendment right to disrespect those who have given him the right to exercise his First Amendment right. Really, people? Really?

Do we no longer possess the ability to chew gum and walk at the same time? Can we not survey the weightier issues in life and be emotional beings? Can we not Think and Feel at the same time?

Our immediate world is in danger. This is not some pie-in-the-sky-that-will-affect-those-people-over-there issues. All of these issues are American issues. All of these issues are your personal issues. Whether or not you know it, is the question.
