What would you do if your 12-year-old brought home this assignment? Some parents like to maintain their child’s innocence. Is it really a school’s place to introduce these topics to them? And in a SPANISH class?
See the report from FoxNewsInsider:
A FLORIDA MOTHER IS OUTRAGED AFTER HER 12-YEAR-OLD DAUGHTER CAME HOME WITH AN ASSIGNMENT SHE WAS GIVEN IN HER SEVENTH GRADE SPANISH CLASS.
REGINA STILES POSTED ON HER FACEBOOK PAGE A FORM THAT ASKED STUDENTS “HOW MUCH PRIVILEGE DO YOU HAVE?
IT INSTRUCTED STUDENTS TO CIRCLE THE BOXES THAT APPLY TO THEM IN THE CATEGORIES OF RACE, SKIN COLOR, RELIGION, SEX, GENDER, SEXUAL ORIENTATION AND DISABILITY.
THE OPTIONS UNDER GENDER INCLUDED, “CISGENDERED,” “TRANSGENDERED” OR “GENDERQUEER.”
Totally inappropriate, no matter what class it was, but definitely not relevant in a Spanish class. Not to mention, this information is extremely personal and private and no teacher or school has any business collecting it from our children! None of it is relevant to delivering an education.
