The same office which brought you the gender-neutral pronouns at the beginning of the 2015-2016 school year now has issued their suggestions for the “Best Practices for Inclusive Holiday Celebrations in the Workplace.”
The Office for Diversity and Inclusion from the University of Tennessee at Knoxville posted on their taxpayer-funded website 10 bullet points, including the following:
- Holiday parties and celebrations should not play games with religious and cultural themes–for example, “Dreidel” or “Secret Santa.” If you want to exchange gifts, then refer to it in a general way, such as a practical joke gift exchange or secret gift exchange.
