Chicago city councilman wins unopposed re-election despite pending murder & drug charges

Here we have a case-study for everything that is wrong with our current system of government.

A Chicago city councilman ran for re-election, unopposed, and won. Great, right? Wrong!

He’s currently facing drug charges after a routine traffic stop found him to be in possession of 73 POUNDS of marijuana and more than $100,000 CASH!

As if that weren’t bad enough… he’s also accused of murdering a man little more than a month ago.

Hmmm… I wonder why no one ran against him?

Maybe they were afraid?
Maybe he’s the local drug lord?
Maybe they have no way to defend themselves due to strict gun laws?
Maybe they just don’t care who’s running their city.
Maybe they don’t vote or pay attention or….

Yes, he’s innocent until proven guilty. But is it really possible that NO ONE thought they might do a better job or be more qualified than someone riding around with 70 POUNDS of pot in their car?

At least now we know why those gun laws are so strict. It’s a lot easier to be the local drug dealer AND city councilman when people are silenced by unarmed fear.
