October 18th US-led coalition warplanes violated Syrian airspace and attacked the main power plant that serves electricity to the city of Aleppo and caused a blackout throughout the city. Hitting an electric plant is a violation of international law–yet the US-led coalition did it anyway and gets away with it. US-led coalition warplanes also attacked the civilian infrastructure of Mare’a, Tal Sha’er, and al-Bab in the Aleppo province countryside.
A little over a week ago US coalition warplanes also hit two power plants in the al-Radwaniye area just east of the city of Aleppo, also causing power cutoffs in that area. Basically the US is attacking the civilian population and not anything even remotely near ISIS strongholds. Meanwhile, Russian air strikes have conducted pinpoint hits on ISIS camps, command posts, arms stockpiles, etc. and not once has come near civilians. Why isn’t any of this ever reported in mainstream western media? Why is the US targeting civilians? And why are there complaints about Russia when it is Russia who is pounding ISIS and al-Qaeda and not once has made a hit near civilians?
Also, the various “rebel” groups do not consist of Syrians. Why aren’t people outraged about this? This war is about forcing Islamic Law on the Syrian people. Rebel groups, including US-backed rebels, consist of Islamist mercenaries–foreign invaders–terrorists! They behead, crucify, drown to death, burn to death, and commit other atrocities on Syrian civilians. Why is the US backing a foreign invasion of Syria? And why are westerners believing the lies and propaganda the western media continues to spread?
The map linked here (via WashingtonPost) is over a year old, the numbers today are much, much larger. These are the countries where the Islamist fighters come from, who are fighting for Islamic Law and trying to takeover Syria: Saudi Arabia 2500; Jordan Palestinians (who want Israel destroyed) 2089; Tunisia 3000; Morocco 1500; Russia (who is having terrible problems with their Muslim population) 1500; Uzbekistan (and other ‘stans’) 1390; Lebanon (Palestinians) 900; Libya 600; Germany 600; Belgium 440; China (this number has grown tremendously) 300; and many other Islamists from all over the world (as you can see from the map) are fighting in “rebel” groups.
These are not Syrians fighting against some awful regime. The majority of the Syrian people are happy with their government. They created a new constitution in 2012. They created new political parties, primarily “religious” parties (which were banned before due to extremism) to pacify the few Islamists. The Syrian Parliament represents secular Syrian society and the people have a voice in government–why would they want Islamic Law? They don’t! The foreign Islamists do. Why are we backing a foreign invasion in Syria? And hitting power plants destroying the lives of civilians living in Aleppo?
I don’t know how many of you read yesterday’s update, but Syrian rebel groups have named the Russian/Syrian forces The Crusader Coalition. I think that is the coalition we should be backing.
