Terror Attacks Highlight Need For Changes To Israel’s Gun Laws

Terror attacks continue since the first attack last week. It seems like we are living in the beginning stages of the Third Intifada. All of Israel is on alert for more terror attacks, with as many as three to four attacks happening daily.

Israel is a dangerous place to be during times like these, a fact that is reflected in Deputy Defense Minister Eli Ben Dahan’s call for any civilians legally carrying a firearm to “be alert and prevent another terrorist attack”.

Unfortunately, gun laws are pretty strict in Israel, especially if you are an immigrant.  Given the number of attacks that happen each day, the government should ease restrictions to allow all law-abiding citizens, including immigrants, to arm themselves.
