Shocking what comments can cause such an uproar. Oh, no not a scandal this time, simply a stance against illegal immigration. After announcing his campaign for President, Donald Trump finds himself in hot water with constituents. Just like in a game of spades, where someone trumps a trick to win it, businesses are trumping Donald as they withdraw their support or fire him altogether.
First NBC, then the Miss America Pageant, and now Macy’s. And no he didn’t do anything that bad… he just said, “When Mexico sends it’s people, they’re not sending their best,” in a speech announcing his presidential bid on June 16. ”They’re sending people that have lots of problems, and they’re bringing those problems with us. They’re bringing drugs. They’re bringing crime. They’re rapists.”
Really, that’s the truth. That’s what he said. Only because he’s Republican and one of the richest guys in America is everyone rising up in arms against it. Yet, Hillary came under scrutiny and people haven’t withdrawn support from her. He didn’t molest children or have an affair. No, he just made some comments about not bringing the best from other countries. Interesting…
“We are disappointed and distressed by recent remarks about immigrants from Mexico,” Macy’s said in a statement first obtained by CNN. “We do not believe the disparaging characterizations portray an accurate picture of the many Mexicans, Mexican Americans and Latinos who have made so many valuable contributions to the success of our nation.”
Be that as it may, whether his words were true or not, he might have worded it differently. More generally like “criminals” instead of “rapists.” Friends on both sides of the aisle gave me feedback and asked questions about this blog post so I added this for clarity. It’s hard to speak publicly. I know I’m not good at it, so I won’t be the one to judge Trump’s words or not. You have the facts; you decide. Let’s just all take a deep breath and decide what’s worth getting riled about.
