Cameron Crowe learns, you can’t do anything without an offended group crying foul… even in Hollywood

We’ve gotten to the point where we’re so politically correct that you can’t say or do anything without some offended group somewhere crying foul. Take, for instance, Cameron Crowe who cast Emma Stone in his latest movie. It’s caused an uproar!

“I have heard your words and your disappointment, and I offer you a heart-felt apology to all who felt this was an odd or misguided casting choice,”

Why? Because the story is about a girl who’s descended mostly from Swedish ancestry, but has 1/4 Chinese and 1/4 Hawaiian in her bloodline. And the offense? Emma does not have those ancestral traits. OMG! Call the National Enquirer! For goodness sake people… it’s a MOVIE… and she’s an ACTOR. That means she’s PRETENDING to be a character. All she needs to do is reasonably look like the intended character and be able to portray it believably. Why is Crowe having to apologize for not making the actor’s pedigree a requirement for being hired? The PC police are so out of hand, it seems like they are continually looking for a reason to criticize EVERYTHING.

You can read about this story and the film here. Let me know what you think. Cause for offense, or not? You know where I stand!
