After St. Louis County prosecuting attorney Robert McCulloch announced Monday that the grand jury hearing evidence in the fatal shooting of Michael Brown had issued no bill of indictment against Ferguson police officer Darren Wilson, everyone, it seemed, had an opinion.
None, however, was quite as succinct and spot on as that of the Motor City Madman, rock legend Ted Nugent.
Nugent posted his thoughts, which were really more of an admonition, on his Facebook page.
“Here’s the lessons from Ferguson America — Don’t let your kids grow up to be thugs who think they can steal, assault & attack cops as a way of life & badge of black (dis)honor.”
Nugent then got down to business, giving specific examples. Paragraph breaks and some punctuation have been added for clarity.
Don’t preach your racist bulls**t “no justice no peace” as blabbered by Obama’s racist Czar Al Not So Sharpton & their black klansmen. When a cop tells you to get out of the middle of the street, obey him & don’t attack him as brainwashed by the gangsta a**holes you hang with & look up to.
It’s that simple unless you have no brains, no soul, no sense of decency whatsoever.
Then Nugent pointed out the true tragedy in the black community, and it has nothing to do with police.
And don’t claim that “black lives matter” when you ignore the millions you abort & slaughter each & every day by other blacks. Those of us with a soul do indeed believe black lives matter, as all lives matter. So quit killin each other you f**kin idiots.
In his distinctive humorous style, the rocker closed by asking that the demonstrators “Drive safely.”
There’s no doubt he was succinct; but why do I believe Nugent was spot on?
Although Brown’s death is undeniably tragic, it’s not evidence of racism. And it’s not evidence that black men are shot and killed by law enforcement as a matter of course.
The mere fact that his shooting death became newsworthy nationwide is itself evidence that such things are a rarity in this country.
On the other hand, 49,851 law enforcement officers were assaulted in 2013, according to FBI statistics, as reported by CNS News. This works out to 136 each and every day. And of that number, 76 officers lost their lives in the line of duty.
But we don’t hear about that so much. After all, it happens 136 times a day.
