Teenage iPod Murder Due to Lack of SELF-Control, Not Gun Control

What have we come to when a teenager murders both of his parents because they took his iPod “and stuff” away? Isn’t it time we have better gun control laws so this doesn’t keep happening? Oh, wait… he didn’t use a gun. He used pepper spray, a knife, a crowbar, and a baseball bat.

First, Vincent Parker sprayed, stabbed, and beat his mother until she was dead. This is no joke. It takes a lot of force to kill someone this way. There was likely a lot of screaming and a lot of blood. He doesn’t seem to remember any of that.

Then he beat and stabbed his father. He didn’t die right away and was able to tell the police what happened before he died. The son doesn’t remember doing that to his dad either. He only remembered getting mad. That’s a whole lot of blinding rage.

This is a 17-year-old kid who was not a known trouble-maker with apparently no history of violence. He was a good 10th grade honor student with a promising future. So what happened?!

What causes a seemingly “normal” kid to just SNAP and bludgeon his parents to death? I don’t know if we’ll ever know the reasons why. Mental illness? Maybe. Lack of discipline? Maybe. Entitlement mentality? Maybe. Who knows?!

But one thing’s for sure… it wasn’t for lack of gun control, knife control, crowbar control, or baseball bat control. It was for lack of SELF-CONTROL.

Do they have iPods in prison? I guess he’s gonna find out soon enough.
