Meriam Ibrahim: Free but Not “Free” from Death

So I was praying last night with my family for people being held in other countries, like Meriam Ibrahim and Pastor Saheed and Srgt T and lo and behold, I wake up today to hear that the Sudanese appeals court nullified Meriam’s sentence and declared it “faulty” declaring the release of her and her two young children.

For one thing, Meriam and her husband are CATHOLIC, which is different than being a Christian.  For another, the sentence was faulty?  It was outright inhumane.  People have the freedom to be whatever religion they want, particularly if the father neglects the family.

Thank goodness it was only a month in prison, yet the road is far from over.  She is not safe and had to go into hiding.  Now we need to convince our government to grant them asylum from her family.  There is a long road of healing ahead.

Why our government does not help its own is beyond me but yet we’ll fly the homosexual flag over Israel and free criminals of other countries.
