Syria’s government, the Assad regime, is systematically dismantling the country’s healthcare system by blowing up hospital after hospital. They are targeting hospitals in opposition territories of the country. But doctors and other healthcare workers are not typically politically biased. They treat anyone who needs care. So why kill off so many critically needed healthcare professionals and destroy the facilities where people are treated? To instill fear and maintain control. It’s a sick game.
