The President will see you now! A Reagan perspective…
February 17 @ 7:00 pm - 7:55 pm
Author of “The President Will See You Now!” Peggy Grande tells us how she landed the job as Ronald Reagan’s Executive Assistant and the lessons she learned along the way.
Reagan was a strong man of faith who believed that everyone should pursue the path that God laid out for them. And he was fine with someone believing differently than he did.
President Reagan loved people and took the time to listen to them and speak with them when he was out and about. People loved him!
Reagan had old-world ways. He was respectful and protective of all women. Very gentlemanly. He would never use questionable or crass language in the presence of women.
He showed a level of civility that we need to bring back today. He met with war heros, historical figures, and ordinary Americans, and he treated everyone as equals. What he did in office changed the lives of people across the world, many of whom he never knew about.
Ronald and Nancy Reagan were like magnets, they were always drawn to each other regardless of where they were.
It would have been easier for the Reagans to retreat to the ranch after the Alzheimers started affecting him, but they weren’t that way. Because of their openness about the illness, Alzheimers became a household name and a subject of research.
