Yesterday marked the 69th anniversary of Israel’s Independence. A day where a country should be free to run itself and where the people have the ability to be free. But with my experience living in the Holy Land, seeing what I have been seeing, I ask myself… is Israel truly free?
Since the creation of the “State” of Israel 69 years ago, it continues to find itself having to show proof of legitimacy to the entire world. If Israel is truly independent, the people and leadership couldn’t care less what others think of our country because facts are facts.
- FACT: There was never a “Palestinian” Arab country prior to Israel’s biblical existence, until after the Arab invasion.
- FACT: There has always been a Jewish presence for over 3,000 years.
- FACT: The Greeks gave Israel the name “Palestine” after their invasion.
- FACT: When the Romans came, they changed the name to “Palaestina” trying to erase the Jewish connection from Judea and Israel.
- FACT: After World War 1, British mandate called the land of Israel, Palestine.
Israel is the only country in the world that has to justify to the world why we defend ourselves from the same terrorism that the world faces. During these modern times, humanity is at war with Radical Islam. But for some reason, when radical Islamic terror attack happens, the world calls them “Palestinian terror attacks” and makes it about land, when the truth is Radical Islam declared war on Israel!
Some of our leadership allows this and does not stand up for the truth of the matter. When terror attacks happen, the United Nations along with the EU demand Israel give up land to the enemy. Why is it that Israel is the only country that has to give up land? The same attacks happen in France, Germany, and all over Europe, but Israel has to change its name for peace?
If Israel was truly independent, it would not be governed by international law. It would have its own constitution giving the people of the land freedom and prosperity. Incidents like Amona, where the liberal high courts have no problem kicking Jewish residents out of Jewish homes, would cease. Israel would not tolerate countries, whether it is the United States, Jordan, Egypt, or anyone else, telling Israel that they can’t build Jewish homes in a Jewish country.
If Israel was truly Independent, it would not borrow money from the United States. Israel needs to become financially self sufficient. Put a cap on rent control, boost the economy, and bring capitalism with less monopolizing markets. In doing so, the country will bloom and would not need to continue borrowing from other countries. Get rid of socialized medical care and encourage free market healthcare. Can you actually imagine having expert medical professionals operating freely in the economy so special needs children wouldn’t be forced to go to institutes by the hands of social workers and incompetent physicians?
After reading this article, ask yourself… does this sound like a free nation to you? Don’t get me wrong, I am grateful to live here compared to other countries in the Middle East. But we need to stop kidding ourselves and break out of this ignoramus bubble. Then we can really work on getting our beloved country of Israel to be truly free.
