Since the moment the election’s result came out, demonstrators are complaining that the President Elect Trump won only because of the Electoral College and do not represent the popular vote. It is not surprising that Democrats are asking to abolish the Electoral College and some government officials such as Sen. Barbara Boxer, are supporting that idea. Once again, it reflects that Democrats decide to support policies and regulations when it suits their agenda. Let’s look at other moments when they conveniently changed their mind.
When Harry Reid was part of the Democrat majority Senate during the Obama’s first administration, he complained of the filibuster. However, when the situation changed and Republicans obtained the majority, Senator Reid surprisingly admitted that filibuster has it benefits.

In another occasion, President Obama himself has shown sudden and surprising changes of heart. When he was running for President the first time, he strongly opposed increasing the national debt and even labeled as “irresponsible” and “unpatriotic” the raise of $4 trillion by former president Bush. But:
In 2013, he lamented to Congress that “if we don’t raise the debt ceiling, we’re deadbeats.”
Most important, President Obama also complained about the excessive use of executive privileges. He mentioned when he was candidate in 2008 that:
The biggest problems that we’re facing right now have to do with George Bush trying to bring more and more power into the executive branch and not go through Congress at all. And that’s what I intend to reverse when I’m president of the United States of America.
How ironic, given that he uses executive orders to promote his agenda.
These are a few examples of the unpredictable Democratic Party plans and opinions. Now, it claims that the Electoral College is anti-democratic.
Senator Boxer argued that:
“The Electoral College is an outdated, undemocratic system that does not reflect our modern society, and it needs to change immediately.”
Everyone could be certain that she would change her mind if The Electoral College benefitted the Democrats’ agenda.
