Abortion clinics are “a dying breed” according to clinic director

It’s an encouraging sign when even the states that manage to thwart pro-life efforts are seeing a drop in abortion business.

California is one of the worst states when it comes to protecting unborn babies. It allows nurses to do abortions. It forces pro-life pregnancy centers that offer women life-affirming alternatives to advertise abortions. And while it bans girls under 18 from using tanning beds, it does not require these same young girls to notify a parent before having an abortion.

For all this, California earned an A+ grade from the radical pro-abortion group NARAL. Yet, even in California and a number of other liberal states, abortion facility directors told the news site FiveThirtyEight that their business is going downhill.

Shauna Heckert is the executive director of Women’s Health Specialists of California, a chain of six abortion clinics in northern California. Her abortion business has operated for 40 years, but she said she worries about having to close.
