The Left’s Political Madness

Utopia, Liberal Dream
Utopia, Liberal Dream

Like all human beings, radical liberals reveal what they value and don’t value through the way they express their passions. What are radical liberals passionate about?

The liberal today is passionate about seeing nothing good in this world, and nothing good in people who disagree with their world view.

Today’s liberals do not see most people, or themselves, as autonomous individuals, but as part of a collective group of victims of some undefined injustice perpetrated on them by an all-powerful group of villains, who are hell-bent on abusing, depriving, neglecting and exploiting them.

Those who occupy this world of victims are, “workers”, “women”, “minorities”, “the poor”, “the LBGT community”, “the little guy”, the “middle-class”, “the undocumented”. They are cheated, oppressed, disenfranchised, and unfairly treated by the villains.

Their problems are no fault of their own. None of their failings are due to their own poor judgement, lack of responsibility, bad choices, or wishful thinking.

The villains, who are the source of all the victims’ misfortunes are really bad people; mostly Republicans. They are selfish, cruel and mean-spirited predators like, “Big Business”, “Big Corporations”, “Big Oil”, “Imperialists”, “Oppressors”, and “The Rich”.

They support wicked institutions like free market capitalism, property rights, social decorum and responsibility, individual liberty, religious and traditional values, merit-based justice, and personal responsibility.

The mission of the modern liberal is to save the hapless victims, just as a parent would save his own child. Like parents, modern liberals see themselves as compassionate, nurturing, empathetic and wise, and are the only ones capable of stopping the suffering of the child-like victims.

But if you are a member of the victim-class, you cannot be held to any standard promoted by these institutions. In fact, the very existence of these institutions are seen as the root cause of every economic, social, political and moral deficiency suffered by the victims of the bad people.

Through drastic and unrealistic government intervention, the Left seeks to take on the role of a parent-state. Like surrogate parents, the government would provide equal distribution of goods and services; guarantee material security; enact social justice that would mitigate or eliminate all forms of inequality, suffering or disadvantage.

The parent-state will punish the institutions for placing a high value on human life; for espousing religious freedom, traditional marriage, and personal faith in God. Merely holding these traditional values is seen as a direct attack on the character of the victims who reject those religious and traditional values.

Regulating and restricting free market activity will prevent the villains from exploiting the victims. Never mind that over-regulating, over-taxing, and unnecessary restrictions on businesses leads to a loss of jobs and economic growth. Who needs a job when the parent-state is there to take care you?

This is what liberalism is passionate about: a very large, authoritarian government that regulates and controls society from cradle to grave, through entitlements and redistribution, for the realization of their ultimate dream; a world utopian society.

Life is a journey, and you don't always know where you will end up. I am a happily married, Christian woman of 32 years. I home schooled my children for 19 years, then found my way back to school in 2010 to study hotel/restaurant management. I enjoy reading, playing tennis, and politics. I love my country and I am passionate about preserving our liberties and our freedoms. Too many politicians, academics, and media talking heads are lying to us on a daily basis. My mission is to encourage people to become more aware, more involved, and more outraged at how the politicians, academics and media talking heads are destroying this great experiment called, America. My favorite saying is "what goes around, comes around." I may not see the coming around in my lifetime, but I believe it will come, God willing.
